Art Still Standing

Film makers, builders of figurative, immersive, animated, and multimedia art, Zonja Capalini together with Ludmilla Writer and Plastichansa Bade have roots in the Opensim art scene going back well over a decade. Here, for example, is Zonja's build at Avatarfest a hypergrid community festival that was such a joy for so many of us.
When hypergridding was still not an immense thing in opensim, Zonja invited me to make an avatar on her minigrid Condensationland to review the art over there, and it was an unforgettable experience to wander the installations and drink in the landscape there, it led to this blog post from 2012
Condensation Land is an evocative, eclectic playground of art
Many of us have struggled with the age old question of whether to posit your region on an existing grid, where someone else worries about the Asset Server, and people are more likely to come see your installations or venues, or to have full control on a minigrid which may be rather off the beaten track and harder to reach, but guarantees you zero drama.
Plastichansa, Ludmilla and Zonja 'enjoying' a visit from the Safari gang back in 2017
Zonja, Ludmilla, and Plastichansa moved their regions to Metropolis grid for a long while, and Plastichansa was one of the many who joined Neeovo and myself for the farewell to Metro party back in 2022.
Safari visit in 2017 to Arrabal, a tango club that many of us remembered from the olden days in SL, Sadly  Zonja has deleted most of her videos from YouTube, a few survive thanks to the work of Plastichansa Bade - there's this one from November 2016
Over time, the trio of Plastichansa, Ludmilla and Zonja found that other interests and responsibilities made it less and less feasible to be in Opensim. Luckily, Plasti took the decision to keep LibDescent and Condensation Land online on OSGrid You can visit both 4x4 VARs - don't miss the freebies, and the posing parlor too on LibDescent, as per this blog post .
For some hypergrid explorers, this will be a case of revisiting remembered installations, for others, this will all be new. Either way, they represent an important part of our shared artistic heritage, still standing despite the ephemeral nature of pixels and servers.
Inside the LibDescent complex
Recently, to celebrate and perhaps reboot their inworld activities, Plasti put this video up on YouTube, with some AI magic it includes their very own little song, it's charming. Be sure to go over to YT and subscribe or Like it if you can. Encouragement is like wind beneath a person's creative wings, and with a little luck and our support these artists, with their extraordinary vision and style, will be back to wow us with even more delights in months to come.
