Around the World on Creative Landform

Our second destination this week was on Altternate Metaverse grid (call it AMV for short) where we met up with Zelle Mist, Sofee Supermarine, and Ted Junior, to tour Ted's build Creative Landform.
Sofee Supermarine
Zelle Mist: Welcome. good to see you all
Sofee Supermarine: Hi Hello everyone Welcome to Japan the land of the Rising Sun, Ted will be here in one minute
Ted Junior: hi everybody What you going to see today are 5 different setups, the one we standing on is Japan
Dings Digital: looks beautiful
Ted Junior: we can walk around if you like, its not so big... a small harbor with the boats
Thirza Ember: what inspired you to make a build with 5 styles all on one region, Ted?
Ted Junior: well the thing was that i wanted something different,  so I put some major cities... here in Japan is the freebie isle
The simple and convenient stalls offer all sort of assets from clothing to buildings, without overwhelming the sim but adding to the charm and attraction of the place.
Taarna Welles: shopping time!
Ted Junior: if you have some building ideas you can always come back and take the free objects
Dings Digital: yes, wonderful lots of things to explore
Ted Junior: ok lets go up the stairs
Ted Junior
Forest said something we were all thinking - ted's appearance was so different from what we usually expect to see. It's fascinating how the size of your avatar in proportion with your surroundings has an impact on your judgement when building.
Forest Azure: oh ted, i thought you were tiny!
Ted Junior: me i am tiny when im a dinkie,  i do other things so i have to be big
Forest Azure: lol, yes? now i'm wondering
Ted Junior: yeh I am working on an amv project with 25 or more activities for avatars
Taarna Welles: Ted, have you been in Japan?
Ted Junior: no, I build by pictures
Taarna Welles: What is your inspiration to create a Japanese region?
Ted Junior: Oh, i think i was looking at the movie, the land of the rising sun one day, and i thought yeh why not make something like that, but more happy place, and when i made it i loved it
Ted Junior: then we go to Cuba
Thirza Ember: Ted, we will follow you to Cuba and beyond!
The Cuba part of this region is a charming village set high above the sea, with a rocky shoreline for the most part. We arrived on a section of sandy beach and then climbed a very long flight of steep stairs to reach the main plaza. James complained that his knees couldn't take the strain of so many steps.
eva Nowicka: James.. the knees're not the problem.. maybe those shoes :D
Taarna Welles: James need a bit pixel oil for his knees
Forest Azure: first the shoes, then the knees
Sofee Supermarine: haha did you bring some as back up taarna
Thirza Ember: all those vials at destination 1, you couldn't find anything that cures bad knees?
Moments later, James was dancing with petlove, so evidently the pixel oil must have worked!
Ted Junior: this is a small region , named Cuba Havana... in the summer we do salsa parties here
Tina Bey : que bonito
Ted Junior: when you set your setting to midnight, you will see how colorful it is
Petlove Petshop: the lights strung across the top are great
Forest Azure: what is a typical cuba dance?
Don't miss the second plaza, with classic cars, a nice display of art, some lovely colorful architecture and charming surtidor.
Ted Junior: when you in midnight thirza, with the fountain and the colors
James Atlloud: Very nice particle effect in the fountains.
Ted Junior: yeh i made them turn :)  then they not so stiff
Our next stop was a village in Italy, in the foreground of this picture. You can view Japan in the upper left corner, Paris in the center, with the rocky shore of Cuba to the right and, behind Cuba, the pyramid of the Egypt/Rome build can just be seen. We jumped on, sticking with the twilight or midnight setting
Ted Junior: this is a little plaza where you can sit and relax...with an italian bar :)
Forest Azure: now for italian ice cream!
Forest sampled the goodies in the Italian bar, calories be damned.
Taarna Welles: Ted, did you make little Italy later than Japan?
Ted Junior: i think a few days after. The whole region i made maybe in 2 weeks or so, its not difficult if you have the ideas, and then you have to fined the props too
James Atlloud: 2 weeks!  wow
Ted Junior: she is trying the wine
Forest Azure: could not find the icecream though!
Thirza Ember: when Ted and Sofee were on Inworld Revdiew a few weeks back it was so interesting, Ted was explaining about his building classes, I found that very fascinating... in opensim, we all know so many people but we don't always know the backstory to what they do in opensim
Sofee Supermarine: that is so true Thirza
James Atlloud: so true!
Ted Junior: yeh was great thirza thank you for hacving us , if you like to build or learn to build... in september we start with a fresh class, and do not worry if you do not know how to - i teach you to build a house on blue print in 19 weeks
Forest Azure: 19 weeks? isn't that long?
Zelle Mist
Zelle Mist: lol unless their name is Zelle
Ted Junior: no no, because for people who never build we start basic and scripts, texturing, and so on, then end is building a house that they have 4 weeks for
Taarna Welles: I create for a long time, but learning still.
Ted Junior: and believe me, i had students they never build and they one of the best ones now
Ted Junior: yeh taarna you a builder too, i have seen your amazing work
Taarna Welles: Always something new to learn
James Atlloud: I learn by trial and error, and error, and error!
Ted Junior: ok who loves roman and egyptian
Thirza Ember: i like roman food I am not sure about Egyptian food
Forest Azure: they have icecream?
We arrived at an island with classical proportions. Ancient Egypt and the Roman Empire feature on this part of the build with warm sandstone tones and lots of monumental buildings.
Taarna Welles: Ted, if you build in two weeks, how many hours did you spend to get all together?
Ted Junior: uhmm I think a day or 2 for the props
James Atlloud: Liking the music
Ted Junior: as i make designs on paper where i want it all and sometimes i change it around, it doesnt take me long
Taarna Welles: No shopping bags under your eyes, after?
Ted Junior: hahah no no... i can say this project here, i didn't had any grey hairs. The one I am doing now, I have lots of grey hairs
Angelic Kisses: the textures here are very nice indeed
Ted Junior: yeh high 3d textures, took me a while, but I got some from friends and i changed them in photoshop a little
Thirza Ember: we should have a temple to Phos the god of photoshop
Ted Junior: these builds are prim builds with sculpts ...you wouldn't say it, but it is... when you have the right texture then you get something like this what you see
After exploring the ancient Mediterranean civilizations, Ted handed out icecreams
Thirza Ember: i wonder, can I eat this in Paris?
James Atlloud: Cucumber ice cream?
Petlove Petshop: Paris has escargot
We jumped to the fifth and final island on the sim, this  time a soupcon of Paris, with a cute sketch of the City of Light's famous tower - a repurposed light fitting! Ingenuity and giving a general flavor of a place is a very good way to build without making impossible lag for your visitors.
Ted Junior: this is Paris
Zelle Mist: we have had some beautiful weddings and Valentine parties here
James Atlloud: got an eyeful of the Eiffel
Ted Junior: we having valentines party
Taarna Welles: Next year we all get an invite?
James Atlloud: Wow Ted, this is just an amazing tour!  So many interesting locations!
Petlove Petshop: well its been amazing for sure
Taarna Welles: <<<<<< APPLAUSE>>>>>>
Ted Junior: i hope you all enjoyed it
Taarna Welles: It was a lovely tour. Lot to see too.
