Scenes and Dreams on ArtDestiny

 The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places;

We visited ArtDestiny grid this week as our first stop, (HG Address as usual at the end of this post) in part to congratulate this group of friends for the 5th anniversary of their grid, but also to witness some of the remarkable creations to be found here. If you've read tis blog before you will be familiar with Stormy Scorpio and her regions on the grid that have an ingenious duality. 

Stormy Scorpio on Lothlorien

High in the sky - no, in outer space, perhaps would be a better way to put it - you'll find a dozen Star Trek spaceships, explorable and fully loaded. At ground level, and working kind of like the holodeck environments from Star Trek TNG, you have a gently glamorous landscape, full of elven architecture.

LMs for our trips are in this simple, giant prim at the HG Safari clubhouse 'waiting room'

But of course, before that, we all met up at the clubhouse on HG safari grid. Some folks arrive plenty early so they can get the LMs and have a chat before we depart for our first stop, but there's also a rush of folks in the four or five minutes before go time. If you arrive a little late, or maybe can make just the second hour, don't worry, you can still grab the landmarks and join us, the more the merrier!

Thirza Ember:  sometimes, there is a last minute change, for that reason I do not publish the full destinations in social media, it would be too complicated to go around and modify the publicity everywhere, so to try to avoid confusion, the only place where you can get  the guaranteed correct destinations is in this box

 Isabelle Sun[de>en]: Okay, that's well organized

Alex, Isabelle and myself were talking English-German via the translator orb and I took the opportunity to mention the upcoming HIE. 

Thirza Ember: we begin to plan the next Hypergrid International Expo, with some talks and art demonstrations in German, French, etc... 

Isabelle Sun[de>en]: wow great,

Thirza Ember: it will be in November, the weekend of November 13 - 15  

Isabelle Sun[de>en]:That's always a lot of work for you guys, I always think it's great 

Thirza Ember:  can I convince you or your friends to speak about Opensim in German at the event?

Isabelle Sun[de>en]: oh oh, about what?

Thirza Ember: your opinions about virtual worlds, or about a place you have made, your ideas ...

Isabelle Sun[de>en]: I'll think about it again and let you know.

Thirza Ember: hehehe alex... well, the opportunity exists!  there are many other ways to participate. More news about HIE will be coming soon!

Pretty soon we were off to our first destination, on ArtDestiny grid.

The environment set for the region by Stormy is ...atmospheric in the finest sense of the word, but it's a bit dark for photos where you want to see the people. However, it's strongly recommended for your visits. There was a nice group of 'locals' on hand to support Stormy and to welcome us all.

We strolled briskly through the forest, stopping briefly at some of Stormy's favorite points on the region.

Thirza Ember: stormy tell us how you got the idea to build a lord of the rings style region, have you always been a fan of the books or did you mainly get inspired by the movies?

Stormy Scorpio: well I love the story, Lord of the Rings - books, then movies, so everything on my sims reflects Tolkien

Thirza Ember: the pictures in the books are amazing - those artists like Alan Lee are almost like elven folk themselves

Stormy Scorpio: everything above my sims is Roddenbury, Star Trek... on your notecards you will have LM's to both places, you can come here anytime, use the houses  the castles, explore everything

Stormy Scorpio: this is an elven tavern , you can get a nice cup of mead

James Atlloud: Gene Roddenberry made good trouble!

Thirza Ember: i love the idea that the LotR part works like a sort of holodeck for the star trek part

Stormy Scorpio: the trail leads to my other sims,  Misty isle,  Anam Cara, and Tir Na Nog

Loru Destiny: stormy always liked to have RP on her sims, but it's not easy to finde people, am I right stormy?

We hurried inside the castle, which is delicately decorated on multiple floors

Stormy Scorpio: the castle is simple, the views are nice

Thirza Ember: don't worry we have good travel insurance... how many times have you rebuilt this region in the past 5 years, stormy? or is this the same region you  started out with

Stormy Scorpio: oh I don't know thirza,  a lot, I just added a fairy fort

Thirza Ember: are there any elements you never change?

Stormy Scorpio: yes, the main theme of each sim

Tryad Destiny: Well I always  have  the theme dreams and nightmares, these are small scenarios put together to wake feelings in people. They aren't meant to be pleasant but touch your feelings  somewhere

Thirza Ember: some of these could easily be in a lord of the rings film

Loru Destiny[de→en]: That's true, Thirza

Tryad Destiny: i make them  with ki  modeller [KI is German way of saying AI] after my ideas  and  to get what i want  takes  much trial and error

Loru Destiny: fear is a deep feeling

Stormy Scorpio: I hope you do love next time

James Atlloud: Yes, for good reason!

Thirza Ember: Tryad, can people inworld get copies of your 3d art?

Stormy Scorpio: this exhibition will be here for a week, so feel free to come back

Stormy Scorpio: Loru is playing the music for us,  Moses won't be able to sing today,  he is sick, so Loru agreed to DJ.

We next visited an elven hall not too distant from Tryad's garden exhibit.

Stormy Scorpio: the library is interactive so you can sit here and read

Stormy Scorpio: yes, a lot Taarna. Now another special treat we will see creations by Loru, her latest.  I am wearing a dress she made for this occasion

Thirza Ember: like in middle earth, you have elves, dwarves, men and hobbits all in one place, each contributing a bit of the story... if Stormy is an elf, I think I must be a hobbit

Forest Azure: aahhh! now i finally get the crocs! they are hiding hobbit feet!

Finally a few minutes of dancing as our tour came to a close
