Fantasy With Friends

Safine Mahoe: Hello Everyone!
Zuzu Bahro: Hi everyone
Dings Digital: Hello :-)
Alex54 salamander: Hello :-)
Thirza Ember: did my clothes survive the tp this time?
Safine Mahoe: everyone looking good
Thirza Ember: LOL 'looking good' could be different to 'fully clothed'
James Atlloud: yes, all green and pink
Safine Mahoe: Please click on  the translator  ball above
Forest Azure: i see a lot of tags with no people attached
James Atlloud: some things are taking time to arrive
Forest Azure: bodies?
Thirza Ember: Zuzu looks like she stepped out of the pages of a fairy story, and Safine's wings are magical - half invisible, so delicate
Zuzu Bahro: :D
Taarna Welles: Oy James! You.... look... different. 👁
James Atlloud: ha ha - just trying to fit in. Trying to Arbre male from Fest 'avi
James 'Woody' Attloud on Fantasia region
Our visit to this region is a second attempt, the first time for some set of opensimmy reasons, almost all the group were either unable to see the sim, or couldn't even
Safine Mahoe: Thank you all for coming....I am honored! Today we will show you some of the areas you did not see on  first visit...  my goal with all my landscape regions is to try and offer enough so that people will want to come back again....I don't want people to be able to see it all in 5 minutes and I avoid straight lines and flat  landscapes
James Atlloud: Wow, a giant tree!
Thirza Ember: are you inspired by books and movies Safine?
Safine Mahoe: well......always loved fantasy as a child... a lady I have much respect for....but I blended her work with my imagination......JK Rowling
The region has lots and lots of weather - fog and mist, rain and even snow here and there. The contrasts are immense, from deep forest full of winding tracks, to uplands where you get the opportunity to look out over the scenery.
Taarna came prepared with an umbrella ready to tackle anything the weather gods could throw at us. Of course so much moisture also means lots and lots of flowers - a huge range and variety of plants.
It's a scenery that invites you to remain close to your avie, rather than camming out - it brings you in touch with your inworld self as an explorer and trekker.
Like this immense bridge spanning a gorge.
Safine Mahoe: lol...this bridge was a bit of work
Thirza Ember: great textures
Safine Mahoe: you get a view both to the sea and the waterfalls
Safine Mahoe: we are heading up to the elf Palace
Tina Bey[es→en]: I love these mists that appear
Thirza.Ember: foggy bottom!
Safine Mahoe: my goal with this build was to show many different kinds of fantasy
Safine Mahoe: the area we are getting set to enter is more focused on darker fantasy and was built by Zuzu
We stepped through this doorway and were soon descending into an even deeper woodland.
Thirza Ember: ut oh Zuzu... dark ! lol prepaared to be scared
Safine Mahoe: naw.......  nothing scary....just different than my area
James Atlloud: The paths make suche great use of elevation - up and down.  I imagine it very hard to make a path on an incline
Safine Mahoe: the paths   certainly can be challenging Zuzu did amazing job on the landscaping here
Zuzu Bahro: thanks
James Atlloud: applauze
Zuzu Bahro
Forest Azure: rollercoaster tycoon is most difficult in mountain areas
Zuzu Bahro: i will say that i have items that are not on the path. You can wander and see see creatures and other sights
Thirza Ember: do you guys prefer static animals, NPCs, or animesh?
Safine Mahoe: Animesh!!!!!!!  I rarely use static and NPC....well.......npc is ok...but  the auto rezzing npc can cause issues
James Atlloud: animesh has gotten so good in opensim
Zuzu Bahro: i have static scattered in
Safine Mahoe: in my opinion, animesh and npc add a lot of life to a region
Thirza Ember: yes, it's a game changer but of course, it's a give and take when considering region performance
Alex54 salamander: That's right
Safine Mahoe: Fantasia has Centaurs, elves, fairies and  many other fantasy  elements
Walking in the woods and trying to keep up with the group, while also trying to take photos and look closely at the details can be hard.
Of course everything is super familiar to our hosts, so they can tend to go a bit fast and to forget everything is new to us.
They do their best to slow down but it's difficult, probably they rush out of anxiety that we won't get to see everything, but it does end up with me getting a lot of photos of the butt of our guide as they rush of yet again from a point of interest, and sometimes picture taking slows me down. |This time, I was able to catch up with everyone on the river bank, just after a damp 'incident'.
James Atlloud: It's ok.  I am drip and dry!
Thirza Ember: no peeing in the water courses
Tina Bey [es→en]: All this is to walk and walk a joy!!
Safine Mahoe: thank you!
Thirza Ember: do you ever get lost here?
James Atlloud: That last climb was a challenge!
Safine Mahoe: I think also to comment on earlier question about landscaping, I try to recreate  things I have seen...and add in bits of fantasy
Thirza Ember: lol i keep getting stuck
Safine Mahoe: very sorry
Thirza Ember: these stilettos aren't helping - stupid shoes
Safine Mahoe: if issues walking...please try lowering your viewer quality
Thirza Ember: safine do you spend a lot of time modifying the things you find?
Safine Mahoe: yes....I don't really build from scratch.....but like one of my houses is a combination of 6 houses...totally seamless, matching textures...rooflines....and I love Hidden Doors.....something I learned from my dear friend Luna Lunaria
Tina Bey: oh!!
James Atlloud: That cavern under the elf castle was cool
Safine Mahoe: it is easier than  walking around...but you will see the castle Zuzu decorated here
James Atlloud: ah, my poor feet!  ha ha
Tina Bey[es→en]: James, your shoe, ..we are visiting
Thirza Ember: we apologize for James and his muddy shoes
Tina Bey: James, the upholstery, come clean it
James Atlloud: that's a croc!  I mean, crocs.
Tina Bey[es→en]: He is spoiled and you are to blame
Safine Mahoe: my main goal with my builds is to NOT make a carbon copy of what  everybody else has, I simply try to make it a little different
Zuzu Bahro: you put your own special touch to it
Forest Azure:  i love the landscaping :)
Tina admires the landscape
Tina Bey: and you create it beautifully!!
Safine Mahoe: Personally, I feel landscaping helps tell the story
Zuzu Bahro: i love to landscape

Safine Mahoe: Many people told me I should write a huge back story for this region, I prefer to make it so detailed that people write their own stories in their minds
James Atlloud: I do agree though - I love to learn the lore of a place too.  But I understand creating that story can be big work!
Thirza Ember: yes, it's a delicate balance between imposing a meaning, and giving some background sense to a place

Safine Mahoe: here we have many fairy cottages...all decorate
James Atlloud: I just noticed that Bink and Sixtus are wearing Dutch Klompen!  Like crocs?
Bink Draconia: just some kind of it ;)
James Atlloud: Thirza can trade stilletos for klompen!
Forest Azure: klompen are definitely not crocs, james
Thirza Ember: those klompen are made for walkin'
Bink Draconia: lol, thirza :)
James Atlloud: The painted walls inside this house are beautiful
Safine Mahoe: Thank you.........minor  stretching and tweaking
Tina Bey: oh, bellisimas!
Thirza Ember: your inventories mush be massive LOL how do you keep up with all the items you have? are you very well organized?
Safine Mahoe: ummmmm guilty, I need to be better
Safine Mahoe: this is the guard tower and you will see a lot in it
Thirza Ember: this has been a really fun trip Safine, Zuzu
Zuzu Bahro: we are so glad you came to see,  I hope you'll come back to wander around
James Atlloud: This is simply wonderful Safine.  Thank you for showing us around!  Thank you too Zuzu
Taarna Welles: It's endless .
Safine Mahoe: I appreciate everyone coming!
Taarna Welles: <<<<<< APPLAUSE>>>>>>
Zuzu Bahro: hugs all around
Bink Draconia: great region, great work. thank you
Forest Azure: thank you so much for the great tour!
Safine Mahoe: thank you....this was a labor of love...but was built for people to enjoy
