Trouble for Safari

This week's opening gambit was a bit of a gamble, but what fun! We went over to Kitely to visit the Catronian Archipelago, a 4x4 roleplaying and sailing sim on Kitely where pirates combat navy, cannons roar, and you'll either end up in the drink, or with a drink... probably rum.
Trouble... but in the best possible way!

Cata Raven and Trouble Ahead 

There's nothing rum about this band of friends who came out in force to meet us on the sky island that serves as a TP hub for the various points of interest on the region. If you've never visited this bit of Kitely, it's a total delight. It can be shy-making to drop in on a RP group, because you never know if you're breaking in on their story, but these guys have always been super friendly - here are some of the 'usual suspects' who had just finished a battle royale when I dropped in last week to make sure of my LM.

For our visit, there was a fantastic welcoming committee, and I guess about 18 Safari tourists, so quite a crowd was forming when we all tp'd over to Kitely...

Trouble Ahead: We will take you on a tour by boat!! The tour will be sightseeing all islands in approximately 30 minutes with some short information and some facts no other people heard and will stay a secret between us!! So keep ye ears open so you won't miss anything of this amazing adventure!!

Trouble Ahead:  We will pass through a teleporter gate right here . We will arrive at the docks. You will see many little ships close to the docks , you can sit on them.  Chose one of them and board!!The ships work with arrow keys and with toggle you can handle the speed. Please follow me , I will be sailing on the front and you will see this black flag, just follow the flag!!!

OK I know what you're thinking. A mass teleport followed by everyone getting into little boats on a sim full of interactive assets. And yes, most of us were frozen there for a while. But the place was far too charming and Trouble's enthusiasm so infectious that we just rolled with it. This, after all, was not our first experience of group travel lag. Safarians are strong! If not as well armed as Catronians.

Trouble Ahead: I wear a flag on my back, this is a SMUGGLERS flag!!! My name is Trouble Ahead, one of the most vicious smugglers in Catronian Archipelago!! I smuggle all the booze I can get, but also jewelry, gold and treasures I found on the Navy ships !! I like sinking their ships a lot !!

Trouble Ahead: shouts: this is LEPER ISLAND. Here live the leper who are banned from the other islands. The people of Catronian Archipelago drop food for them here.

Trouble Ahead: shouts: Welcome at Port Hope ! Judge Snoots Dwagons residence in the city hall you see on the right side, the building with the little towers! Here the criminals are brought to court and have a fair trial when judge Snoots is in a good mood and not too drunk !!  Governor Morgan had his bank here for loans and coins and let us not forget HANS WORST three Michelin stars restaurant for fancy dining when you arrive in port after a long sail !  Also many captains live in this port!

Not everyone's clothes showed up (a classic feature of group hypergridding) but luckily Neo's delayed outfit was cunningly hidden by the helm. Overdressing for a sailing Safari wouldn't make sense. ANd every boat had a parrot, which was cool!

Trouble Ahead: shouts: This city here is Port Hope. there is a pub, a grocery, a hospital, a school , hairdresser and way more things people need here! Many people live here in little houses. Some are Port Celyddon clerks, others are merchants, fishermen or use the houses as home port. We have music events and dance events here. All sailors and landlubbers are welcome,

There was much banter about criminals, rum, seasickness, ship-ramming, and of course the group explained how you can get lessons on how to sail here, which obviously helps you to avoid sinking.
