Once in a Blue Moon

The Blue Wave Club is an old soul in opensim, and it carries its memories lightly, with long friendships.  The club is located under a pyramid that gives the sim its name, and under the sim water, that gives an unearthly light to the dancefloor.
Unlike so many clubs which are as huge as aircraft hangars, making the dancing public seem like ants, this is an intimate, primmy, colorful space, with that warm, lived-in feel to it. Full HG Address at the end of the post, as always.
Cherry Manga: hello!
Elamanu Pastorelli: hi all
Samira Samtanko: hello all  welcome to the  Midweek Party
Juno Rowland: Hi Safari folks!
Dorena Verne: Huhu HG-safari peoples:-)
Akira Sonoda: Huhu @ everybody :-)
Arvina Dancer: Welcome to the  BLUE WAVE CLUB
Kelso Uxlay: Hello
Jupiter Rowland: Nabend, Ezry! And hello to all the safari visitors!
Samira Samtanko: Welcome to the Party
Thirza Ember: WOW you all look so beautiful  and surprisingly dry considering we are underwater
Samira played a fantastic set of Country hits for the first part of our visit, and then Akira rocked the second part, so there was a great mix of tunes and tempos, and of course lots of chat. Typically the company comprises German speakers but many of the regulars know some English and they really made an effort to reach out to us. If you use Facebook, Dorena Verne published a lot of nice photos of the event, so you can see everyone up close! But how did everyone find the Blue Wave, and how did it get started?
Jupiter Rowland: Guess the first time I was here was in 2021 when Dereos joined our regular event schedule. I can't remember ever having been here without Juno, and Juno moved in with me in April 2021.
Dorena Verne: I was here for the first time, very late, must have been 2015. :-)
Classic deLorean
The Safari last visited the Blue Wave when they held their famous "Back to the Future" party, so it's been a really long time since we were all on this region! According to that movie, by 2015 we would all have self-tying Nikes, hoverboards that could really hover, and cars that can run on trash, and lots more... remember that?
Suzan vonOtter all say the Delorian was a bad sport car
DJ Dereos: this Party was 2015
Thirza Ember: a car that uses trash for fuel..... we still need to finish inventing that
Dorena Verne: Our oldest regular Friday event at Rockhouse Dorenas World will be 10 years old next month.
Anachron and Dorena dressed to impress
When party people travel, inevitably they notice (and sometimes disapprove) of the way other grids run things.... just for a bit of banter...
Anachron Young: Why the F does OS-Grid disallow older FS-versions ? The latest Version freezes on my new computer so I had to make big efforts just to get here ;-(
Dorena Verne: We are more of anarchists in Dorena's World, every viewer is allowed.^^
Akira Sonoda: hehe even Malon's weird Singu which does not deliver colors :-)
Thirza Ember: yeah! anarchy rules!
Anachron Young: Anarchy in Germany
Thirza Ember: anarchy is nice, until nobody is willing to make the dinner
Anachron Young: well if they want food somebody will finally get down to making dinner ... but who will wash the dishes?
Jupiter Rowland: As long as nobody says 'that's what we have dogs for'.
Anachron Young: or cats
Thirza Ember: Akira and Samira, can you tell us how you started in Opensim? We are curious to know more!
Samira Samtanko: One of the first Party Sim here, since 2010 ...building beginning  first of April 2009
Akira Sonoda: Hehe came here to OSGrid from Second Life wanted to launch my own sim ... then found out that a lot of other people had problems with sims and servers ... we had a meeting on Monday where we discussed those issues ... there I also met Samira who wanted to make a party in the grid on her server. We discussed then and I told her to not worry ... I would take care of the server and the sim ...did it for many others as well ... especially those who remember Doro and Jay and her famous Friday Party :-) So i had to monitor two parties ... one on Wednesday and one on Friday ...
Thirza Ember: that's a lot of work!
Akira Sonoda: we were a pretty small community of german talking simmers ... and we called ourselves DeReOs -> deutschspachige Sims in OSGrid
Akira Sonoda: when there were troubles with the management of OSGrid ... remember the pizza driver named Hiro Protagonist ... we left here and first went to Metro before we made our own grid... but the wednesday party remained ... here in osgrid as well but only once on the first wednesday of the month ... the other parties are in our grid
Akira Sonoda at the pole
Thirza Ember: I like very much the way the German Grids are organized and the way you can support each other's events, like a federation...  of partyers!
Akira Sonoda: Yeah we are a small nice group of music lovers ... almost every day an event somewhere .... all different kind of sounds .. pretty fascinating
Laisa Miller:de/en yes, you can say that again
Ezry Aldrin: Normally yes, many Planets;)) Many Grids, and Many Friends, I'ḿ here since 2010 on Osgrid, and my own since May 2010,  but we can visit all of us, i mean itś a Federation how The Federation of Planet in Startrek... in Startrek you must not Have Money, itś the Same here, inworld
Ezry, a fan of the hypergrid
Dabici Straulino: Mensch !
James Atlloud: I am so ready to be done with money!
Anachron Young: There every now and then a nitwit coming up trying to make OS a business plan ... F***-Them !
Jupiter Rowland: I've even seen attempts at bolting cryptocurrencies to OpenSim.
Thirza Ember: wow this place is like a crossroads of party goers, many coming and going
James Atlloud: Mozilla Hubs did not ask for money, but now they are shutting down too.
Thirza Ember: I always thought maybe Latinum is like that gold coin you get at christmas that inside is chocolate
Anachron Young: and chocolate of bad quality that is ;-D
Ezry Aldrin: thats the best on OS, it come and go grids, but you are the owner of your Own;) and in someone Grids you can make a Place for yourself and must not think there is only a Way with Money;)
Considering that the party had begun an hour before the Safari group arrived, and people were still showing up as we were preparing to leave, it's clear that this event draws in a wide group of friends, as each newcomer was warmly welcomed, and each one leaving to go to sleep - after all it's a work night for most people in Europe - were sent to their rest with kind words.
James Atlloud: I want to thank our hosts here for welcoming the safari. This is quite a nice place. And no problems with many avatars!
Unadecal Arado: lovely club
Kelso Uxlay: Vielen Dank für die Einladung!
Akira Sonoda: hope to see you again ... announcements are always in the gridtalk forum or on our forum, forum.dereos.org
Anachron Young: In gridtalk you will also find pictures of events Dorena visited, about one day later on the corresponding event thread
Dabici Straulino: vielen Dank, ein sehr schönes Club, Tschüß !
Cherry Manga: Have a great midweek party everyone, thank you for having us
snowbody Cortes: ty for having us here, bye !!
Star Ravenhurst: Thank you for the party!
Roffellos Kisses: thank you for letting us visit and for the great music
Arcanquest Frank: grazie e buona continuazione
Dorena Verne: bye HG-Safarie:-)
Jupiter Rowland: Until next week!
Akira.Sonoda: Take care and have big fun on your next destination :-)
