 Eroticism has always been a big part of virtual worlds; maybe it's the excellent weather and unlimited beaches, or the chance to have a killer body and even better lingerie, or the option to connect with.. well, all sorts. From the comfort of your own Viewer.

Victoria Logan, from Argentina, is a long time resident of OSGrid,
 known for her art and her work in cultivating the artistic community of Opensim

Art is also erotic, or should that be inherently erotic... on Arts-&-Friends2  Victoria Logan, known in Opensim for her beautiful lagoon galleries, has another collective of artists who have dedicated their talent to this theme - the previous two themes you may remember were 'Women' and 'We are OSGrid' and both were stunning and are still visitable in the Arts-&-Friends archipelago. 

Curating art can be hard work. Finding artists, choosing a unifying and broadly appealing theme, encouraging people to participate and supporting and promoting their work, and presenting it in a pleasing environment requires hours of dedication. The participants this time include Azi Az, Youca Golden, Gabriel Solstician, Tina Bey, Malcolyis Fadian, Morning Glory, Caro Fayray, Victoria Logan, Bonnie and Victorious Oppenwall, Deanna Janus and Elmo Figaro, and Lando Maremagnum. Tina, Caro and Vic joined us for the tour. There wasn't time to visit the whole place, so we have every excuse to return!

Victoria Logan [es→en]: It is a pleasure to tell visiting friends about it. The topic of the expo is really interesting since its interpretation depends on many factors. We are going to observe the work of each of the members of this project...

The sim was a little on the slow side,  so not everyone was getting all the textures, but we kept going, wanting to make the most of this opportunity to hear Victoria's commentary - places like this are always worth visiting multiple times, to absorb their intent and atmosphere, so everyone kind of knew they'd probably return even if things were a bit grey during our tour.

First up was this collection of similar nudes, made using one of the art-via-suggestion programs that have gained so much popularity recently.

Victoria Logan [es→en]: Malcolyis Fadian is an artist who focuses his work on AI images  using different techniques. He is permanently updating and testing the AI. His vision of eroticism is embodied in this images. He designs with his imagination...

Victoria Logan [es→en]: and mix a futuristic scene with an old or almost contemporaneous

At first I thought the lag was preventing the mesh from resolving properly, but having returned when nobody was on the sim, it seems this is an abstract representation of two lovers. Go over and see what you see, and let me know in the comments.

The display by Azi Az was extremely elegant, harmonious without being repetitious, with real depth and meaning in every image.

Victoria Logan [es→en]: For the artist, yes... the artist molds the images of the princesses and her lover in each kiss... Erotic art has the ability to cause an emotional or physical response in the viewer. 

Thirza Ember: hmm very interesting answers! Disney is a mirror on our libido then... this is an interesting study into the psychology of opensim LOL

Victoria Logan[es→en]: Eroticism also relates to each person, with their idiosyncrasy, with their culture...  Over time, what is considered "erotic art" can vary according to the cultural, social and historical context. In some cultures and times, the representations of sexuality have been seen as sacred or spiritual (as in the art of Kama Sutra or the sculptures in the temples of Khajuraho in India), while in others, as during Victorian moral or even in the contemporary era, it has been subject to censorship and repression.

Victoria Logan[es→en]: What for me is appealing, perhaps for others is not

Thirza Ember: I like the way Victoria has organized the gallery I think she has given everyone a good space to use, they are separate but the whole thing is harmoniously linked

Victoria Logan [es→en]: it projects different imaginary images, or perhaps real for the artist in a sophisticated, free, timeless environment...There is much to see and analyze for speaking and changing opinions.
