Our second destination of the week was over on Alternate Metaverse Grid, with the lovely Lynnestra Parker showing us around. We were sorry to learn that Maldrul Smith, a good friend of Lynnesta who DJs regular music events on Lynn's region, wasn't able to be with us due to RL. We were able to learn a lot about the sim from these informative boards when we arrived... this is a place of spirituality, myth and healing... with a fair dose of humor and fun thrown into the mix.

Lynnestra Parker: In Irish mythology, the goddess Airmed (also given as Airmid) was one of the Tuatha Dé Danann. With her father Dian Cecht and brother Miach, she healed those injured in the Second Battle of Magh Tuiredh. I created this Armid to give people a place to relax and possibly heal.
Lynnestra Parker: Hidden on the land are herbs of various kinds to help heal visitors as they explore.
Because the unicorn live here the season never changes, it is always Spring. There are wolves and bear here as well as other animals. But rest assured the unicorn make sure no one will be harmed by any of the creatures here.
Lynnestra Parker: Our first stop today will be the Fairy area. it is such a lovely day let us walk to the fairies. :)
Lynnestra Parker: Most people think of Fairies as mischievous creatures, however, the Fairies on Unicorn Forest are helpful and love to greet people. The queen of the fairies has decreed that all fairies should help heal, like the plants and the unicorn do.

Lynnestra Parker: I am both Irish and Scottish with some American Indian. So yes i guess it does :)

Lynnestra Parker: I was on another grid called Great Canadian Grid, no I am not Canadian. LOL. It went down and I found AMV I had looked all over open sim. I also had an AV on Inworld

Thirza Ember: oh GCG I remember that, we once spent a whole hour of the safari in roddy's cabin, messing about with the rocking chairs.
Lynnestra Parker: Welcome to the pond. :) This is a peaceful place where couples can dance or lay on a blanket and relax an afternoon away. In the pond are floating poses so you may float and relax in the healing water and chat all day.
James Atlloud: Does AMV grid work nicely for hypergridding?
Lynnestra Parker: For most areas. Some grids shut off other grids
Lynnestra Parker: There are many places in Unicorn forest to explore alone or with a friend. You may also enjoy meditating in front of a soothing waterfall. There is a rideable unicorn at the entrance as well as a horse to ride. The unicorn seats one person and the horse can seat two people. On foot or riding, Unicorn Forest is a place of exploration and relaxation.

Lynnestra Parker: Maldrul and I are RL friends. Maldrul and my husband both served together in the airforce. Now Maldrul, his wife and my husband and I all live together in Texas
Petlove Petshop: that's so nice
Lynnestra Parker: Here at On The Rocks we stream AMV Radio on most days. On Thursdays at 4-6 Pacific time and on Sundays 5-7 pacific time we are lucky to have the elf, Maldrul Smith as our house DJ. Playing Classic and contemporary rock. He also has songs he throws into the mix he calls his Something Completely Different. These are usually very silly and funny songs.
Lavia Lavine: They are hilarious most times... Maldrul is awesome, one of the best I know
Lynnestra Parker: Maldrul used to DJ in SL for clubs and for the Surfing Association there. I bribed him to come to open sim and DJ for me. I gave him a parcel to call his own
Thirza Ember: oh interesting... do you think there's a difference between Sl and opensim, in terms of music events?
Lynnestra Parker: The music events in OS seem to be more relaxed. I think it is because it isn't focused on money but rather on the fun
James Atlloud: Maybe a bit easier to find music in SL? Opensimworld works, but seems... lighter.
Thirza Ember: opensim clubs are usually so huge, even if you have a crowd, we look like 4 little ants... this place has great proportions
Lynnestra Parker: We made NPC dancers for the club... Maldrul made the men and I made the ladies. They are all dressed for a beach atmosphere
Star Ravenhurst: The trick is to keep your club small so a few look like a crowd. Love the music that is playing.
Lynnestra Parker: Our last stop of the tour today is the surf raft. Here you can sit and watch as other surf. There is a surf shack on the beach next to us. Anyone may use it to hang out and get a warm shower. Next to the surf shack is a stone ramp hewn out of the very rock face that separates Rocky Shores from Unicorn Forest. Follow the ramp up to the hang glider take off spot and beyond to a secret entrance to Unicorn Forest.

Lynnestra Parker: Rocky Shores is always Summer. The volcano sees to that. Unicorn Forest is always spring because that is what the unicorns want
