Govega Sachertorte: so you know last year we developed the roads sims, starting with cloudburst and shadowlands.. we were simply having so much fun that we decided to expand. We were having crashing issues and, turns out, all our var regions were different sizes, so Una said his OCD was crazy over that, and said we MUST have the SAME sizes for all var regions if they are attached
Thirza Ember: he is one of many ocd people that can save your bacon
Govega Sachertorte: Yes! and that solved our problems. So once we started fixing the sizes, they all had to be 4x4s
Govega Sachertorte: so we developed this whole eastern side as "roads" sims, we have a winery sim, the bridge, forests, and residentials. "Roads" is a group of sims for touring with very interesting roads, off road trails, horse trails, camping, picnic housing, shopping like real neighborhoods. It's the place where our tour group, Never Riders, operates from.
Govega Sachertorte: so then, after we were doing creating the Roads sims, there was a whole western blank side. And I said how neat would this be to add our Bountiful Continent to the western side. However, the regions on Bountiful Continent were all 2x2s so we had to convert all to 4x4s to go with the same size varreregion set up. So, as best we could, we matched up our continent sims into 4x4s but sometimes we combined 4 sims into one. I had to import the oars with displacement... merging... lots of fun (NOT) I am still sorting our the teleports, and most people will have to reset their Home. it's a bit of a hassle for people, but the trade off is going to be we are enlarging the parcels
Thirza Ember: so - just to be clear - the Roads sims formed one continent, and now, it's melded with the Bountiful continent?
Govega Sachertorte: yes The continent is probably about 2000 sims (in size) big) atm and we will probably keep the name Bountiful. The parcels here are beautiful in this sim and 10,000 meters and up, with different sections. This parcel is a good example of a VIP parcel.
Thirza Ember: can you just remind us of who can get a parcel on Neverworld, how it works.
Govega Sachertorte: this sim is for locals only, its a VIP sim but our mailboxes will let you know some are by group so if you are not a member you cannot get the rentals. We will also be offering VIP housing for hypergridders for a small fee somewhere in this area soon, but we will always have hypergridders free areas too - like most of the old continent will stay mixed use
Thirza Ember: Easy enough to create a Neverworld account, and in my opinion having multiple accounts can only be a safeguard of assets
Govega Sachertorte: That's true, but we realize that people don't like making new accounts, and starting new
Thirza Ember: and all the old sims are still there, even if LMs don't work any more, you can still find places (or will be able) by looking on the map? Like Misty Pond where there's an HG Safari Embassy, or Silverbell, where there is an Inworld Review studio... I'm guessing they are both now part of var regions?
The HG Safari Embassy on Neverworld |
Govega Sachertorte:yes... as best I could I used the main sim of the new vars, so Silverbell is now Silverbell Lands, and includes Silverbell and Stardew, Misty Pond is Misty Lands.
Thirza Ember: wow a huge amount of work but a great leap forward... the names are intuitive then! great
Govega Sachertorte: Yes we are always trying to improve our feel Some I could not do, like Neo Rome and Solomons Temple, so I just named it Ancient Lands
A part of the Ancient Lands region |
Thirza Ember: so you were saying, the heart of this new expanded Bountiful continent is going to be the Jerry Garcia connection
Govega Sachertorte: This whole area is galleries and art
Thirza Ember: it's a signature choice on neverworld to have a lot of freebie shops together with landscape art, if I can put it that way, you make an environment to visit, but it's also a great excuse to pick up some nice assets
Govega Sachertorte:Yes as you know, almost all our sims have some freebies usually themed to the sim, so for instance, Cloudburst is a touring biking sim, we have a shop of all accessories we made, branded Never Riders Clothing etc. Most of the infrastructure was done by Nexus and smokes, Mr smokes did this area
Govega Sachertorte: we also have parks and such I have a dog park here LOL I made some of the things like the pool, dog houses, beds etc
Govega's dog park |
Govega Sachertorte:Here is the Golden Gate Bridge, in my opinion the most amazing place in opensim. I cannot wait til Manasha, Jerry's widow, sees this... and the roads are all connected! We have aimed at realism here...
Govega Sachertorte: the sim next to this Pelican Harbor is amazing. lots of hills, and houses... this is our new obsession, inspired by The Jerry Sims of course, now this bridge connects those sims with the Cloudburst regions. The Bay Area is of course where Jerry Garcia lived and worked. LIttle WIllow region represents Sausilito too (Sausalito is Spanish for Little Willow). And Gold Mountain is what the Asians called the Golden Gate Bridge area, and Pelican Harbor is a section of Sausalito.
Sausalito or rather Little Willow Bay region. |
Thirza Ember: so this all becomes a Garcia destination
Govega Sachertorte: that's what I am hoping... oh and be sure to go to Rouge Vineyards, That is a sim where all the riders members each made a vineyard... check out the UFO vineyard there area 51 vineyard, it's so cool and fun.

EXCELLENT post thanks for coming to see. Thanks for the amazing pictures too Thirza. I loved showing you around :) even though it was before coffee.
ReplyDeleteIt’s incredible! The road sims are a must-see, but best to ride them to get the best experience. I like the motorcycles, but I’ve seen members on horse-back and in automobiles! But, ‘watch out for falling rocks’.
