Unforgettable Amnesia

Druskus  Zonenations welcomed the Safari this week back to his eponymous grid, and we visited Amnesia, HG Address at the end of the post as you probably know by now. The fun began on the HG Welcome sim, where we experienced some of that opensim voodoo that is hard to explain - some osgrid people simply couldn't tp onto the grid, while others had no problem at all.

The Safari always brings a lot of lag with it, so we're best if we wait for at least 5 or even 10 minutes on arrival for the group to re-form and for everyone to rez the place - the more complex the sim, the longer it takes, of course. We mostly try to sit down, so that we don't add to the problem by wandering around and giving the sim one more thing to register. Does it really make any difference? Not sure, but at least we feel like we're trying to cooperate with the system and be considerate. Some of us had more picturesque seats than others...like, on the photocopier...

Druskus, the owner of ZoneNations

Druskus was on hand to welcome us, together with the lovely Cleopatra Abu, and friends of the grid including DjArianna Nightfire,  corsaronero Nightfire, Ronni Resident, and Aria Aqua, who is a builder known in Second Life for her splendid reproduction of Rome's Piazza di Spagna

In the meantime, Cleopatra Abu took us for a tour of the region, which is jam-packed with activities including lots of scripted games, architectural details, and flying creatures.

Cleopatra set off into the forest, and we all did our best to follow her through the labyrinthine tunnels and pathways up the mountain. She stopped finally, at the top, and those who were lost were able to teleport to her.

The top of the mountain affords a view over many of the activities here, and there's a dragon you can fly that will give you an even better idea of the features of the sim. Forest took the ride for all of us.

From there we hiked back down the mountain and came to the swamp region,  full of fog. It's in this area that you will find the companion ride to the dragon - this time, a dragonfly.

Shortly after, we moved over to Amnesia sim, where Adam King was waiting for us.

Amnesia sim is a pretty region with an island surrounded by water...

...we had a little tp glitch that meant we visited the bottom of the sea quite a few times before we got to the dance floor  but it was so funny, and unpredictable that is was all part of the entertainment of the evening...

The system probably works very well when there are only a couple of people on the grid, but with so many of us trying to travel, we overwhelmed it. The dance floor was worth the wait and it was very nice to experience this interesting, antique build. albeit only for the few minutes remaining at the end of the tour.
