Ship Trip

Admiral Hanger says: Welcome back. It's nice to have you back. Please enjoy your stay.
Ted Junior: Bonsoir Ange :) Bienvenue
Yara Eild: A real cruise ship
Ange Menges: Merci Ted, bonsoir. Bonsoir Yara
Ted Junior: Welcome Everybody, I am and I'm your guide, today for the Aurora Cruise Ship here on AMV. If its not rezzing good, just walk around a little then it pops up
Forest Azure: /me is getting seasick already
We were at SevenSeas on AMV for the prnultimate destination of this season, and delighted to be on the biggest ship in opensim !  Ted is one of the Staff on AMV and kindly took on the job of showing us around. He has forearms, I swear, but like Yara's legs, and Ziggy's torso, they chose not to reveal themselves to my viewer. The joys of HG - but back to the tour.
Ted Junior: This cruise ship is about 3 regions big. We worked months on it, with a whole building team :)
Tosha Tyran: omg -  I bet
Lyr Lobo: wow big ship!
Prodyck Theas: okok
Ted and Ange
Our first stop was a long low room with yoga mats on the floor. After last week's brush with tantric goings-on, it was with some relief that Ted swiftly led us onwards and upwards to other quarters... It was a fast-paced roundup of the highlights of the ship, hand-picked by our guide out of dozens of possible areas of activity - the boat is stuffed with things to do!
Ted Junior: Cliff the owner had a dream, for a cruise ship, so we all put our hands together and this is the result I will guide you now on this floor first, and then we go up, and more up
Forest Azure: /me squeaks : it can't sink, or?
Ted Junior: ohh yes, it can sink, but dont worry, we have the tiny boats
Forest Azure: /me is not that relieved by that idea
Tosha Tyran: enough of them? not that we face a disaster like on that ... hmmm, that.... I better wont mention it
Ted Junior: yes may about 20
Ted Junior: ok if you like to follow me. As you see there is lots of space, we have the relaxing area -  these are the shakra and yoga area
Lyr Lobo: beautiful cruise liner and great ballroom
Star Ravenhurst: I wonder if these mats are as dangerous as Nico's
Star Ravenhurst outside the sneak peek at the Aurora's Easter Hunt build
Ted Junior: hehe I will show u something... as its not Easter, we wont show it normally... everytime when there is a day for party or fest there will be build something extra on to the ship - from Easter to  rock and all, on the ship. From 1 - 9 april we have an eater hunt so there will be eggs to find. You guys are the first ones that sees this easter plan
Tosha Tyran: I am sorry, I stepped on one egg
Yara Eild: nice :-)
Ted Junior: if you guys get stuck, let me know, or ask for a tp
James Atlloud: I just double-click on the mini-map and hope.
Ted Junior: ok we go back and take the stairs... this is one of the ballrooms we have on the cruiseship
James Atlloud: so much room!
Ted Junior: i always say when u need your steps a day, then you have to come to the cruise ship
Thirza Ember: how is this built, Ted? is it mostly mesh, or prims, or a mix
Ted Junior: bit by bit w build it - prims and mesh - layer by layer first, then we filled it up... as you see there is still some work to do, but most is ready.
Thirza Ember: oh wow, that must have been some complicated engineering? Did you plan it all first, or come up with ideas as you went along?
Tosha Tyran: things of this size you must plan beforehand and with a group of so many people as well, if not, you end up with 20 rowboats :DDD
Ted Junior: yes, during the build we found still things that could be better like we had a group of 20 people who wanted to help with this project, each person who worked on it had there ideas there views, so we combined it.
Another of the myriad sitting places on the ship
Forest Azure: 20 rowboats might be nice too :)
Thirza Ember: it's a real achievement
Ted Junior: you will be seeing soon the boats when  there is an issue
Star Ravenhurst: The Titanic needed more than they had
Ted Junior: we only do not have a violin player, hehe
Forest Azure: /me shivers
Lyr Lobo: /me cheers
The giant buffet. No sneezeguards required here
Thirza Ember: buffetttttt - i'm so hungry
Tosha Tyran: whispers: wow... HUNGER
Ted Junior: and the good thing is when u hungry u can walk around and eat have some romance... laughs...alone with your wife or gf
Lyr Lobo: great spaces
Ted Junior: under the stairs is a jazz club... dunno if sombody loves a jazz club, old style, this is a kind old dark jazzy cafe
Forest Azure: /me walks on the stage and sings a jazz song
Yara Eild: I like it very much. It looks cozy
Ted Junior: and junkfood...This is build by me
Prodyck and Ard sample the junk food

Ted Junior: we will go to see the kitchen, as you see a ship has to have his own kitchen, so we made a small one
Yara Eild: wow
James Atlloud: Where's the eggs benedict?
Tosha Tyran: oh lord,  I already ate a tortilla and 2 chicken wings, I am stuffed
Ted Junior: ok, next is art, and cinema, I love funny faces, so we have the funny faces art  here
Forest Azure: drowned people?
Ted Junior: yeh... some died some are still alive :)
Thirza Ember: lol you killed all these celebrities??
Alan Scot: the joys of a 4x4 sim
Ted Junior: i gave them to the sharks LOL. next, movies
Forest Azure: popcorn?
By now we were all a little out of breath and overwhelmed at the pace. It's not possible to walk and type questions and take photos all at the same time, and it's tempting for our hosts to try to show us more than we can possibly take in. But Ted was a prince, and quickly took the hint that we needed a breather.
Lobby of the cinema
Ted Junior: lets wait a little, sorry thirza :)
Alan Scot: a huge amount of building here
Ted Junior: yes alan :)
Thirza Ember: why did cliff want a cruise ship, Ted?
Alan Scot: how many people did it ?
Ted Junior: Cliff wanted a cruise ship, because he had a dream about it, and to have it on amv :) we build with 20 people
Lyr Lobo: Love cruises. Attended two game design cruises to Cozumel, was such fun.
James Atlloud: Oh lyr, how cool!
Star Ravenhurst: You know something is good when you can recognize who did the work. That pool over there is beautiful
Thirza Ember: i remember there was one back in about 2009 in SL, crossed 2 sims
Star Ravenhurst: I remember that ship in SL
Ted Junior: me I love to go on cruises, in rl also
James Atlloud: I've been on one cruise.  Next cruise will need to be a Star Trek cruise.
Alan Scot: u can live on one for a year $30,000
Thirza Ember: on AMV you have all the fun of the cruise, and none of the covid
Tosha Tyran: and you don't come out like a stuffed goose either
Nara Nook: This probably as close as I will get to a cruise
Ted Junior: I think if everybody would live on the cruise, then it would be more fun, as everybody is on one place.
Star Ravenhurst: I don't think I could go on a cruise. The idea sounds nice but being so far out on the water...terrifying
A glance outside and it looks like we're underway
Alan Scot: auto moving vehicle AMV ?
Ted Junior: yes Alan what u see like those islands moving, but the ship doesn't, so it feels like the ship is moving but its not, the islands are moving... ok we go further as there is much more to see
Tosha Tyran: is this the bridge?
Lyr Lobo: observation deck is lovely view
Thirza Ember: what a great idea, whale watching

Ted Junior: next I like to show you all is we have an amazing library and of course the deck,  people can give readings telling stories here
The giant library
Forest Azure: do they?
Ted Junior: its bit modern touch Yichard [Muni] comes here to tell a story sometimes
Thirza Ember: oh nice! elf dreams guy
James Atlloud: so nice that the WiFi is free.
Tosha Tyran: such a huge space... and yet so many details, really amazing!
Ted Junior: we will go up and then up again. You see in the builds it took lots of care, to bring it, these are the staff rooms, but they are empty I think
the lovely book stage in the Aurora's library
Forest Azure: staff has a holiday
Thirza Ember: let's not disturb any guests.
Ted Junior: and restaurants, travel, souvenirs, swimmingpool, and internet cafe, activity office... I didn't show you all, but we have also bowling alley, rollerskating on here
Lyr Lobo: Great cruise liner, Ted... amazing work
Ted Junior: i can show u a cabin
We ran up on a sim crossing, which was really the first time in our stay that there was any rubber-banding, pretty impressive for a band of random wanderers on such a huge and complex build,
Thirza Ember: sim jam
Luna Lunaria: oops sorry
Ted Junior: i think we have ghosts
Luna Lunaria: aint skeered
James Atlloud: booooo
Cabins above the traditional mall in the center of the cruise ship
Even a guide as able as Ted can get a bit lost in such a behemoth.
Ted Junior: as not all rooms are furnished, so we made some  that u could see... and of course is at the wrong side, laughs but you see that different people worked on it, so everybody has there view... and that makes a nice concept I think.
Ziggy Cagney: furnished up one level
Luna Lunaria: This would be a fun project
Alan Scot: getting housekeeping to rez a bed
Ted Junior: ok, above your heads are the rooms, as i was on the wrong level sorry for that, all
Lavia Lavine: Finally made it, Thank  you
Alan Scot: Luna meet Lavia  -- Lavia - Luna
Luna Lunaria: Hi lavia :-)
Lavia Lavine: Hello Luna!  How are you?
Our time was coming to an end, so we skipped to the brain of the ship, the Bridge, as our last point of interest. One or two of us stopped off briefly at the pointy end of the boat, where Clan Escotia has a stage (cunningly fashioned by the ever talented Webby Merlin) and then off we went to the ample, tech-heavy bridge where it seemed rather worryingly that Whirli was serving as Navigation Officer.
Ted Junior: so this is the bridge with the maps and machinery and so on
Luna Lunaria: computer stations are cool
Mal Burns: why hasn't enterprise got a bridge this size?
'Captain' James sitting on the equipment. Our apologies to AMV
Ard Rhys: Thanks for the tour, Ted
Ted Junior: I Want to thank you all, for coming over, and that i could show you a bit from the cruise ship, feel free to come and see the rest , everybody is welcome
James Atlloud: so amazing!  What a great ship!
Star Ravenhurst: Oh the time has flown! Thank you so much for having us. It is truly amazing!
Tosha Tyran: thanks Ted! what an awesome visit indeed!
Mal Burns: yes - great and (whopping) build
Forest Azure: great tour, ty ted
Ted Junior: I will let the rest of the builders know too :)
Lavia Lavine: I will have to come back and see more of it!! What I see looks awesome
whirli placebo: it goes on forever!  amazing vision, Ted
Yara Eild: The cruise ship is very beautiful, it makes me want to go to the Caribbean right away
Forest Azure: next time i'll go fishing here
Star Ravenhurst: I plan on coming back for exploring. It was nice meeting you Ted!
Ted Junior: Have a lovely Afternoon or evening, and a nice safari trip :)

  1. This ship has to be tp'd to be believed. How can something this elaborate even exist?! Fantastic work by the AMV folks, fantastic.
