I Dew

We all do so love builds by Azi Az and Danger Lytton. In the second part of this week's adventure, we visited the Dew Drop Islands, and what a contrast from the first part of our tour!

Azi Az and Danger Lytton

This blog covered the Dew Drop  a few months back when it first opened. At that time, the sim was attached to OSGrid. Since then it's been moved over to Danger and Azi's personal grid, called Shipyards, where it is one among a whole clutch of jewel-like regions. HG Address, as always, at the end of the post.
We did manage to crash Sauce, our first destination, but with no casualties, as we were all kind of expecting the crash so we just relogged and rolled up a little early at the Dew Drop Islands, in ones and twos.
Azi Az: Hi Thirza :))) Welcome
Thirza Ember: woohoo we survived!
Kelso Uxlay: Drinking stuff was risky
Thirza Ember: yes, and I have the photo to prove it, Kelso
Kelso Uxlay: Are you going to black mail me?
Thirza Ember: hmmm. that is an idea
Danger Lytton: hello James, please all put your firestorm viewers on shared environment
Landing point on the Dew Drop islands

Thirza Ember: just a few more coming - sorry we are early, we had a big crash on our first destination
Star Ravenhurst: Looks like we lost a few, I crashed after getting stuck on a fish that wouldn't let me go
Kelso Uxlay: Things happen
James Atlloud: I was completely kicked out. Think the server had a hiccup
Thirza Ember: lol I kept saying to Nara - Click on the fish!! then suddenly i realized I had crashed
Dabici Straulino: got the same crash experience, caught by a fish
James Atlloud: expecially THOSE fish
Danger Lytton: we have bigger fish here so watch out
Thundergod Thor: finally made it back
Thirza Ember: sorry - we all had a lot of sauce and we aren't over it yet
Azi Az: Hi Thunder :))) Welcome
Danger Lytton: shall we tour by boat?
Kelso Uxlay: yeah
James Atlloud: the environment settings are quite nice.
Wizardoz Chrome: hi :)
Thirza Ember: yay Nara made it back! Mal will be last I bet. How long have you had this grid, Danger?
Azi Az: Hey Nara :))) i dont see you since long years
Danger Lytton: 6 years
Thundergod Thor: very colorful, I like that.
Danger Lytton: here we go, please keep hands and feet inside the boat at all times, we have critters here that may seem friendly.. they aren't friendly really - they are HUNGRY
Azi Az: yes please don't stick out any leg or arm
Thundergod Thor: What?  no one allowed to be gator bait?
Thirza Ember: oh boy, and we are covered in hot sauce! I think we may be the perfect snack...
Nara Nook: Organic hot sauce
Dabici Straulino: sauce qui peut... very nice uncommon aquatic plants
Azi Az: Danger always forget to feed them lol
Thirza Ember: what is the inspiration for this place?
Danger Lytton: inspiration was from movie avatar - but we wanted it to be our own creation
Azi Az: yes its different we gave it our own touch
James Atlloud: Oh I can see the movie connection now.  Still, this feels totally original.
Thirza Ember: does this planet have a name?
Azi Az: Dew Drop island but i call it something i better not say in public lol
Danger Lytton: oh look a family of the snail people... speak quietly or they might bolt
Danger Lytton: lets just hope the volcano don't blow
Kelso Uxlay: Au clair de Jupiter
James Atlloud: Volcano?
Thirza Ember: how many years have you been building together now, Danger and Azi?
Azi Az: about 8 years or so
Dabici Straulino: 8 years ! wow, very impressive
Azi Az: yes 8 years of big fun :)))
Dabici Straulino: it must be fun indeed, no other reason to create it
Azi Az: yes hehehe
Danger Lytton: we are in the cone of the volcano, the deepest part of the sim
Dabici Straulino: risky adventure
James Atlloud: Oh I see the volcano.  And now also see we are on a moon!
Danger Lytton: yes james
Kelso Uxlay: One of the most colorful sim I have ever seen
Thirza Ember: Danger is a master ship builder
Azi Az: and a train builder too - lately he has been building trains hehehe
Nara Nook: This is lovely
Dabici Straulino: shooting stars,,étoile filante, very nice
Azi Az: ok seems we survived to the vulcan lol
James Atlloud: Ooo, there was a shooting star!  Wee.
Kelso Uxlay: Will we survive the giant ray?

Thirza Ember: do they like us? or want us to leave?
Danger Lytton: we don't know
Thirza Ember drinks some more sauce
James Atlloud: Love the giant ray.  rays!
Thundergod Thor: keep drinking that sauce Thirza and you're gonna get soused
Kelso Uxlay: phew

Danger Lytton: The dew drop trees are native to this land,  they are a semi sentient creatures,  they are also semi mobile. The males are the larger ones shooting the dew drops from the top. The dew drops are actually their reproductive sperms, multiple males will mate with a single female at once, the females after a time will then eject spores which blow around the land and grow new trees. There are levels in their society - common trees, and the royalty. We will pass the leader of all the trees in a bit, also known as methuselah, we believe it is the oldest tree on the moon, the 2 purple trees on the right are actually princes. Methuselah has only been known to mate with one female, we believe she was carefully selected to make the most pure royal spores
Dabici Straulino: ray at horayson!
Danger Lytton: the land to our left is channel islands, home of mystery mountain, come back some time to visit the rest of our grid, for all the time that humans have visited this moon
Thirza Ember: the tree concept is really lovely
Danger Lytton: and there he is! the Methuselah tree
Thirza Ember: for me this is better than avatar.
Danger Lytton: we can breath the air
Azi Az: original for sure
Star Ravenhurst: I like how everything glows. So pretty.
Kelso Uxlay: Beautiful skies
Star Ravenhurst: The ride is relaxing too.
Thundergod Thor: very bright, colorful and cheerful
Wizardoz Chrome: I agree :) is beautiful :)

Thirza Ember: are the mushrooms edible?
Danger Lytton: i wouldn't try them
Kelso Uxlay: At your own risks
Thundergod Thor: beautiful, absolutely beautiful in shared environment.
Thirza Ember: I love everyone's outfits, but for me, Dabici wins
Dabici Straulino: many weeks of privations...
Kelso Uxlay: She has been on diet lately
Danger Lytton: we are stopped waiting for a couple folks to catch up, 2 seats at front of the boat aphra, please have a seat
Thirza Ember: the wake under the ship is great!
Danger Lytton: this little shack is where humans stayed when they first arrived, snail people took it back
Azi Az: pls zoom at the little shack, it's interesting
Dabici Straulino: I love the welcoming snail
Kelso Uxlay: The post office for snail mail
James Atlloud: very cute
Thirza Ember: Don't look now, but there was a cousin of Tim's at that wooden cabin
Kelso Uxlay: I saw it
James Atlloud: me too - very flashy cousin

Danger Lytton: we will now get our best view of jupiter
Dabici Straulino: I see two terrain textures who do you do that, unless one is an artificial mesh relief
Thirza Ember: Azi, how do you two organize the work on a sim like this? Do you begin with a terraforming concept for the whole sim, and then work from that, or does it evolve organically?
Azi Az: We don't have a strict way of working and organising  we just  share ideas firs we get on each other mind andthen we just let it flow and each start building a part then each complements somehow what the other does etc...
Danger Lytton: but of course i am in charge... or maybe azi is
Azi Az: must say first that we really get along very well building...its easy to build with each other
The boat stopped a couple of times to take on extra passengers. It was so impressive the way Danger piloted the boat, gave us the guided tour, and kept an eye on radar so as to keep the group together.  Azi's kindness in making sure everyone could find a seat was also charming.
Yara Eild: Hello @ all :-)
Alex Salamander: Hello everybody
Nara Nook: HI Yara and Alex
Danger Lytton: we will stop here at the beach so we can all get out and enjoy the view
Dabici Straulino: wunderschöne Schnecken
Kelso Uxlay: Beware of the crab
Thirza Ember: gives a new meaning to a crab dinner
Star Ravenhurst: That crab is so cute!!!
Dabici, Kelso and of course James took advantage of the pitstop to do some posing on the beach props.
Thirza Ember: photo op with the crab?
James Atlloud: sure.  The animesh here is really great
Star Ravenhurst: *-* YeSS! *-*
Wizardoz Chrome: nice nice nice Crab
Thirza Ember: with pasta, i think there is enough for all of us
Danger Lytton: i think so
Kelso Uxlay: By Jupiter

Danger Lytton: lol, good james
James Atlloud: wait, were the N'avi vegetarian?
Dabici Straulino: lovely Tour

James Atlloud: I agree, there are some tight passages!
Thirza Ember: plus he can park really well
Danger Lytton: the rest of the grid is turned off at the moment to allow more visitors here for safari but if u come back at your leisure it will all be running
Thundergod Thor: Awesome tour Danger, most enjoyable.
Kelso Uxlay: Will definitively come back for more of this
James Atlloud: Where does the suggested hiking trail begin?
Danger Lytton: this way, across this bridge, jupiter view trail splits to right on other end
James Atlloud: OK - couldn't be more clear!  thank you.
Kelso Uxlay: Cheers  every one - Thanks for the tip
James Atlloud: Thank you Safarians - really awesome day. thank you Danger.  This is where I really enjoy 'mouselook' in Firestorm.
