Outgoing and Upcoming

After 60 destinations - well 62, if you count the two special Safari trips to the seasonal Hunt builds of Ange Menges and Nani Ferguson - over three seasons in 2022, the Safari is taking a break for a bit.
Mandjelia on OSGrid was our first destination this year
In 2022 we went to 36 different grids, from Kitely to CopyKat and back. At last count, somewhere between 60 to 70 people joined us in person as Safari tourists, forming part of the group that gathers at the Clubhouse before setting out on the adventure - plus many more who came along to support their friends, our Hosts, at each destination.
Safari trips begin at the Clubhouse -  last minute information, gossip and jokes
Judging by the 350 visitors to the Clubhouse region on OSGrid, many more than that have come along and picked up the Landmarks and gone on their own Safari at a more convenient time.

The  grid we visited most was, inevitably, OSGrid - there are so many and varied things to see there. We also went to grids that didn't even exist when the Safari started back in 2014, to vast grids with powerful servers and to tiny, out of the way places that could barely take our weight.

Our incredibly gracious hosts have spent hours making sure they had turned off or removed anything that would cause lag to the group, they have provided lovely gifts for us, and given interesting insights into their regions that made the place come alive. Thanks too to our live music guests, Wolem Wobbit, Joao Frazao, Moses Rae, and Whirli Placebo.

If you watch the Inworld Review, you can see just a few of the places showcased in a special Safari recap episode, full of cleavage shots and naked ladies, art and architecture, landscapes and laughs.

James Atlloud, Mal Burns and I each selected one place more or less at random from each of the three seasons, for there are no 'better' sims, they were all amazing... it took us over 2 hours to discuss our adventures, watch it if you dare...
Something for the ladies during Carnival season at Wyldwood Bayou Grid
Thank you all for attending, for being considerate guests (not showing up horribly early at the destinations - not wearing super complex avatars that cause lag for others - steering clear of Child avies that offend some people) and for being wonderful, generous, creative, and thoughtful hosts.

There is one more Safari this year. Part of the OSCC, we will be running an event out of Expo 2 on the OSCC grid. It's a 2 hour special, with 4 destinations you can go to in any order you wish. The event will be held from 11am to 1pm SLT on  December 11. While so many of us think nothing of hypergridding, lots of people - including many who use opensim regularly - are complete novices or are unconvinced of the attraction of gridjumping, so  please come along to support the hypergrid and share your knowledge and enthusiasm.

After that?

The next season of HG Safari begins on January 4 at the usual time and place, the Clubhouse on hg.osgrid.org:80:HG Safari on Wednesdays at 12.00 SLT. The first season is fully booked but if you are interested in being a destination in the second season, from April - June, do get in touch, and save yourself a spot.

  1. I did watch the recap. It was interesting and funny. I found it a nice switch-up from Listening to Alice's Restaurant on Thanksgiving Eve.
