Namirea

 It's Halloween season, and if you can't contain yourself, then Nani Ferguson and Ange Menges have the perfect Hunt for you - Namirea, on OSGrid. 

Plenty of containers here - a whole ship of them - unfortunately, shipwrecked. On a volcanic island. With zombies and giant spiders and all kinds of other monsters. Some people have all the luck.

There is a special Halloween Safari on Monday 31 October  this year, hopefully you can join us, and if not, drop by any time after that date to try your hand at the puzzles.

Arriving on the container ship, set askew against the rocky shore, you walk up into the alarming building on the island. 

It might have been a military establishment, or some sort of research facility. Small, desperately shabby rooms are ranged around a central courtyard, and there are many dark corners,  stairwells, grimy corridors and rickety walkways. Zombies and spiderwebs, barrels and rusty pipes abound, not to mention a lava pit in the middle of the building - it's all quite confusing and scary.

But this is a mission, so be brave and push through the spookiness! 

This is another very tough Hunt, and it can be tedious when you struggle in the dark from the very beginning, so here are the first steps, to get you started...

Walk up and get the HUD. You'll need it to wear it to play. The instructions are pretty straightforward - remember the bit about standing close to the things you right click on, or you will never find the right item!

The HUD will supply you with instructions - first u, to look for the Feed Store. You've got to hunt around for it, and that can mean some ...close encounters with unsavory characters! 

The HUD shows a photo of the place you are looking for, and that makes life a lot easier! Eventually I found  the right room, and after right clicking on the Feed Bag sign, I got the clue to look for a wheat bag. There's a handy photo to help you click on the right thing. R-Clicky-Clicky-Clicky...

The right bag of wheat was well hidden, at the back,  of course. Right click on every likely object, and if you use your camera, remember to have your avatar standing close to the objects - if not, all the clicking in the world won't work!

Having found the right bag of wheat, and memorized the classic phrase above the zombie's head, time to look for the second stop on the hunt - a place with spiders.

It's a goof opportunity to wander all around the build, find the bar and have a swift cocktail...

... or find the guy fishing off the point.

I don't think they're biting, buddy.  But come on, spiders, spiders... Again, the HUD  photo is a huge help.

Give the password, read the clue, search for the spider's nest... again, it's hidden pretty good, so move around and look in the least obvious corners. And yay! a prize! something cute for the xmas season... just 19 left to find!

It's a challenging Hunt, and no doubt some will get fed up and just enjoy the details on the build, that's usually my thing. But once you get into it, the game's a challenge that rewards.  See you on Monday 31 October at 1pm SLT, nine PM Central European time, for the special Safari, or after that by yourself or with friends!
