So Fine, Safine

 Yeah... it's only just the beginning of October, but this year on Safari we're going to be overloading on Halloween , so if it's not usually your thing, we ask your indulgence because this festival is a huge creative trigger in virtual worlds. Between the costumes, the colorful accessories, the possibilities for scripting spooky things and weird effects, there's a lot to work with in the building gap-months between, basically, Easter eggs and Christmas trees. 

We are beginning this ghoulish month with a flourish, on the lovely Friends Grid where we met Safine Mahoe and Zuzu Bahro. Complete HG Address of the venue is, as always, at the end of the post.

Safine Mahoe: Welcome to the Haunted Halloween Isles!  

Ankh Senaton: hello Zuzu, I saw your art gallery, I like it

Zuzu Bahro: We're glad you're here.

Safine Mahoe: My name is Safine and  I am honored to be included in HG Safari, and appreciate everyone  coming out today.   We want to help with your Halloween decorations, so you will find many items available for copy, lets start out in the Pumpkin Patch... this area is not haunted....but certainly Halloween

 Zuzu Bahro and Safine Mahoe 

Safine Mahoe: The Halloween  region was made by myself and Zuzu Bahro.   Please note, there are 7  different Halloween areas to see, ranging from the extremely fun and seasonal Pumpkin Patch to the terrifying, dark Zombie Hunt.     There is a  round tp stone at  the landing point which will take you to all the areas. Today we will just see a few. areas because of time.

Ankh Senaton: I need some pumpkins for my pies

Thirza Ember: so before we go too far, can you tell us how you two work? who does what? I love to hear about collaborations

Safine Mahoe: we split this up into different isles

Zuzu Bahro: Safine tells me what to do and i do it (LOLOL)

Forest Azure: that sounds a bit sinister, thirza

Safine Mahoe: Doing that allows us both to be creative in different ways

Thirza Ember: haha that's the best kind... do you make your own mesh?  or do you hunt for assets ?

Safine Mahoe: I do not make mesh, I  am appreciative of those that do

Lifted Pixel: hi james!  all white again...  all white is better than no clothes

Safine Mahoe: Halloween is different things to different people...so we have tried to show that in the isles

There was no shortage of the ortage, that's for sure!

Safine Mahoe: This Isle, I wanted to show the colors and beauty of Autumn

Thirza Ember: how long have you been in opensim?

Safine Mahoe: I have been in opensim for about 5 years and friends grid is almost 2 years old

Zuzu Bahro: i have been in opensim since 2017

Lifted Pixel: nice! a long time in metaverse years

Forest Azure: same as dog years?

Ankh Senaton: I thought the same Forest.Azure ;)

Safine Mahoe: spent years in sl.....

Thirza Ember: do you always do a Halloween build, or is this the first time?

Safine Mahoe: I have done a Halloween build every year...but in the past it was small, just a sim

Thirza Ember: great to have so many copyable things

Safine Mahoe: we wanted to share what we could... some things we cannot share, but many things we have.

Lavia LLavine: I love the colorful trees. That's always been my favorite part about autumn

Along with the fall colors there was plenty of creeper green about the various islands, including this spider web doorway. The trick here is to come back often so you make sure you've explored all the curious corners!

Thirza Ember: OK group question, what is the scariest thing in Halloween, for you?

Hicks Adder: clown

Tosha Tyran: zombies

Wicked Way: people who use masks for bad

Ankh Senaton: everything except pumpkins

Lifted Pixel: stomach ache from too much candy

Zuzu Bahro: weight gain

Gorgeous yet ghastly building for Halloween

Safine Mahoe: next we will take the  tp stone to Witchey woods

James Atlloud: that ghost... right thru me!

Safine Mahoe: Today I am not going to show you the zombie hunt, but I encourage those that like the dark side to come back and visit it

Safine Mahoe: this area has 5 different  witch houses to explore

James Atlloud: fun weather effects

Safine Mahoe: this is a combination of natural build and mesh and my theme this years was revenge of the zombies, so the zombies have set many traps for the hunters

Thirza Ember: some great ruins here, this must be such a fun zombie game

Safine Mahoe: another of the witch homes... ohhhh you not even seen the zombies  yet

Safine led the way through tunnels and on coastal paths all around the island.

Thirza Ember: so how long to build all this? it looks like a lot of work

Safine Mahoe: I built pumpkin Patch island in one day....15 hours... but all the islands....we have been working for 2 months

James Atlloud: Like the rooftop stonehenge - I think I need one of those at home.

Lifted Pixel: did you have an idea of what you wanted to make?

Safine Mahoe: yes............it evolved once I got started

Thirza Ember: one idea leads to another

Lifted Pixel: how close are you to your vision for this space?

Safine Mahoe: My goal with this and my underwater worlds is to make something that people will come back to

 Ankh Senaton: to find hidden rooms ;)

 I always see things I can improve

Lifted Pixel: there is certainly a lot to look at here

Thirza Ember: oh exciting! definitely a build to visit multiple times

Safine Mahoe: inside the house you will find many   items

Safine Mahoe: As I mentioned, we are trying to show many different sides of halloween here

Lifted Pixel: haha yeah cooking... whatever 3 eyes of toad and a hand full of mushrooms makes...

Zuzu (center) put together this castle build

Safine Mahoe: This is the castle area the Zuzu made...upstairs are working cannons which shoot at a village that explodes

Thirza Ember: this is awesome Zuzu

Lavia LLavine: You two have done an awesome job here. It's spooktacular.

Safine Mahoe: you will see buildings on the island turn red and explode when hit, I wanted to make this Halloween Display very interactive, and fun for all  preferences... you have seen about 1/3 of the Halloween display.....there is the huge zombie hunt, Ghost town, Caverns, Cemetery and forest. Please come back and visit more

This super build is entirely walkable with ghosts up in the towers, and apparently some hucows in the basement? I took care to avert my eyes. But not everyone did.
