Ernest Moncrieff: very 'hygge' here

This week's trip took us to a pair of maritime sims, first the bright  and beautiful city of Tromso, Norway, on CCI grid, then to Alanna, a boating venue on Craft Grid. HG Addresses, as usual, at the end of the post.

Whirli Placebo: oh, i had an inadvertent trip to the beer spa just before joining everyone here

Forest Azure: must be expensive here

Tosha Tyran: I suppose you bathe in beer there :PPP, like Cleopatra bathing in horse milk, or was it goat

Beth Ghostraven: horse milk??

Tosha Tyran: yeah, I don't know how you call a female horse :D

Forest Azure: a she horse

Tosha Tyran: too easy, Forest

Beth Ghostraven: but I feel sorry for anyone trying to milk a horse

Star Ravenhurst Cleopatra bathed in milk and honey... Never saw what kind of milk though

SoA BAD: we're bathing in beer here, lol

Thirza Ember: I heard they paint houses bright colors so the sailors can see their home as they come into port

After a bit of a false start - for which Beth has some explaining to do (just kidding) we found the correct bridge, and ran all the way from the tourist office to the other side of the bay.

SIWAS S: right side you see the Aquarium

Thirza Ember:  I'm warm now, all that running! Siwas, are you from Tromso? or just a fan?

SIWAS S: yes it's my hometown. This bridge is called the 'gate to the sea of ice' and the church is called 'ice sea cathedral'

Tosha Tyran: how beautiful

Angelic Kisses: it's a beautiful place to see the entire sim!   Wow absolutely stunning.

SIWAS S: in the mountains there is an alpine ski run we will do in the near future with a ski race and a party

 SIWAS S: this church is a rebuild, the deko is for our wedding in February

Angelic Kisses: oh wow!!  Congratulations, your venue is going to be beautiful

James Atlloud: This is a real-life church in Tromsoe?

The church is decorated with some photos from the ten-year-long  love story of Siwas and Bad, a really nice touch. If you're wondering how reliastic the church building is,  you can see it here online.

 Likewise, the stained glass window - that is also original. Another lovely feature of Siwas' build  is the organ, 

Tosha Tyran: have you seen the beautiful organ  in the church?

James Atlloud: This is quite beautiful - and so expansive and open.  Lovely.

SIWAS S: we will organize some concerts here

Star Ravenhurst: This is an incredible build.

James Atlloud: We have several small churches built by immigrants. But they are QUITE small!

Whirli Placebo: the smaller the church the better acoustics

SIWAS S: now I will take you to the oldest pub in Tromsoe

James Atlloud: Pub time!

SIWAS S: the brewery is called Mack and this is the pub you must see when you are in Tromsö

Tosha Tyran: oh  gosh, a drunken bear -it is very cool, really

SIWAS S: the pub was also built original with almost original deco

Star Ravenhurst: Where is the barkeep?

Forest Azure: /me kinda dislikes polar bears... since they are such a nuisance in my game icarus

SIWAS S: in the backside of the pub is a BeerSpa, you can take a bath in beer

James Atlloud: The dripping sound beneath the fermenters is very convincing!

Forest Azure: /me splashes bubbles

Tosha Tyran: when I am hungry I sometimes dream of bathing in stew... but beer?

James Atlloud: Oh this shower is the thing! i could really get in trouble here!

Star Ravenhurst: This is great!

Tosha Tyran: never occured to me... is it also a beer shower?

Wendie Blackthorn: if beer comes out of the shower and beer is golden in color, does that make it a golden shower?

Forest Azure: /me tries to wash her hair and drink at the same time

Whirli Placebo: is bathing in stew good for the skin...or is it just easier to eat dinner that way?

Beth Ghostraven: I hope this is warm beer

Angelic Kisses: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh   nice... I'm just marinading

James Atlloud: I think I need a better avatar before I go back in that shower!

SIWAS S: no this place is not in Tromsö its from Prague, but we need a beerspa lol

James Atlloud: it is most impressive - a place to inhabit!

Tosha Tyran: everybody should have one :D it really is very beautiful! gosh, how long have you been working on it?

SIWAS S: 6 month, every day 4 hours about

Beth Ghostraven: wow, that is a LOT of work!

SIWAS S: Unadecal is the admin of this Grid and we love him - he is the backman of the CCI Grid

Whirli Placebo: Backman - that's a great word

Tosha Tyran: it is great to have a sim-admin to love :)

Unadecal Masala: ok, ok... you guys are making me shy... let's focus on the real star here, the sims

SIWAS S: Bad has parallel to it the lofen built up with a really great viking village - SoA Bad is the name of my Husband. He have the biggest biker track in os - 10 worlds

Unadecal Masala: Tell them about the Sons of Anarchy sims too. Another great place to chill out

Star Ravenhurst: I am a huge fan of SOA

Thirza Ember: don't lose the LM - this is a place to visit and re-visit

SIWAS S: all should go along the street and the houses with the signs give gifts without end, I invite you and all to a shopping spree, wonderful Norwegian things

Thirza Ember: we only have a few minutes here now though, because the second destination is nearly ready for us

Beautiful sim Alanna - boats and art

Our second stop was on Craft Grid, which is celebrating its 13th anniversary this week - happy birthday!  We were guests of the Museo del Metaverso group, as you may know they have a variety of regions on Craft, with new events coming up pretty much every month, from 2D art exhibitions to things like the E-Book library and their annual project aimed at eliminating domestic violence.

On sim Alanna, the group has their R&R section, with scripted sailboats - Tonino Lane offers lessons in how to use these watercraft, if you're interested.  The sim is laid out with a large marina and a series of islets where different exhibitions and shows will be available - it's kind of a work in progress. There's a whole lot of open water so plenty of space for racing.

The lag monster got a lot of us, unfortunately - lots of tps and complicated scripts are not a good combination with an influx of out-of-towners, but a solo visit to the sim will enchant you. The fun continues with a circus build... 

...complete with zombies, a human cannon, and this snake animation - Velazquez Bonetto is the victim here.
