It was our second stop of the Safari, and we had experienced a bit of lag earlier in the day. Luckily, that didn't stop the group from powering through, and not one among them regrets sticking with the adventure - indeed, quite the reverse. Our second stop brought us in contact with something unique and beautiful and we all felt privileged to be there, to experience it. The message came up - "You are now at Crescent Melody, Instrument Testing (150, 128, 21)"
Forest Azure: phew :)
Boujee Gamergirl: Hi Welcome
The 'turn off your Spam Filter' raised a few concerns and added an inadvertent Monty Python theme to the event.
James Atlloud: I worried for today's Spam n' Eggs.
Cuteulala Artis: spam and eggs?
Alan Scot: SPAM SPAM SPAM EGGS AND SPAM
Cuteulala Artis: Is anyone recording a video?
Mal Burns: not yet, but ready
Cuteulala Artis: you may need a higher volume then normal to hear it the best depends. The purple circle offers the best experience in sound as all sounds are centered there but you can be any spot u want to be.
Forest Azure:hurries to the color purple
logicamp immo: Hi ◕‿◕
Cuteulala Artis: you only need sounds turned up this is not a stream, this is a in world live performance
Forest Azure: but... am i supposed to hear something now?
Cuteulala Artis: Not yet. I am going to start preloading the sounds so that music sounds right. You are going to hear a bunch of notes as i preload it this is normal so it is ready for music
Thirza Ember: true LIVE MUSIC
Beth Ghostraven: I hear it now
James Atlloud: I'm hearing through the 'Sounds' slider. WOW, so cool! Luv the M-Audio keyboard - audience left.
Lyr Lobo: yes, her instrument works so well -she is playing it
Cuteulala Artis: yes in world sounds, this is not recorded music, it's real midi playback. Ok waiting on everyone is ready... We all here?
Cuteulala Artis: First Song is Layla By Karim Kamer ...this is a solo guitar
Farstar Enoch: and while playing you can walk around through the instruments, or fly
Boujee Gamergirl: cute can't talk while she is doing the music or the instruments
Thirza Ember: oh if you move in the instrument the loudness changes! awesome!
Boujee Gamergirl demonstrating how to walk through the instruments |
Farstar Enoch: yes, its also a sculpture - the instrument that is playing now, I remember Cuteulala working on it for a long time, and each song midi file takes approx just over 2 hours to do, and cute must build a new instrument if the song requires one... but Cute can answer any questions u have in between songs
logicamp immo: awesome
Forest Azure: applause!
Lucy.Afarensis: Wonderful
Star Ravenhurst: THAT was Amazing!!
Boujee Gamergirl: yay!!!!!!
Magical Midi Musician Cutelala Artis |
Mal Burns: yay, was waiting for the feline chorus
whirli placebo: hahah love this rendition
Farstar Enoch: meooow... Cute has contributed greatly to music in Virtual worlds.. brings a grid to life, always makes me smile - it is a great example of what can be achieved in HG
Tony.Bec: hi hi
Farstar Enoch: hi ya Tony, welcome
whirli placebo: that was fun!
Thirza Ember: there is a video of this song on Cute's youtube
The music loaded pretty fast, proving the lagless environment - this was a bit of a load test for future events.
Cuteulala Artis: not bad for 19 people, hehehe
Farstar Enoch: yes, 19 cool lifeforms
Forest Azure: this is amazing :)
Cuteulala Artis: Next song is called "Aqua" Candyman
Cuteulala Artis: yes
Lyr Lobo: a great view from the ground
Farstar Enoch: as mentioned earlier feel free to fly or walk amongst the instruments when they are playing, it will not harm the performance
logicamp immo: Thanks for this
Lyr Lobo: lovely - music brings such joy to the heart
Cuteulala Artis: i had to cut a lot of corners to make this work, for example the sounds was cut VERY short to prevent throttle, so faster songs work best
Farstar Enoch: how many instruments now?
Cuteulala Artis: 5 instruments, i'd reckon 7 is the limit
Farstar Enoch: due to memory limit??
Cuteulala Artis: sound request limits for viewer before it throttles
James Atlloud: interesting
Cuteulala Artis: and i used the lowest bitrate to man kind, each wav is like 3kb, each instrument has 88 wav files each
Farstar Enoch: we need more powerful viewers?
Cuteulala Artis: the next song is called Meowgoon 5: The cats don't wanna know!
whirli placebo: this is all so delightfully clever....such a fun place! kinda surreal
Star Ravenhurst: I am in Awe!
Thirza Ember: the clapping hands are so nice
James Atlloud: ☀..·♬·..•✶•..·♬·..☀
James Atlloud: ✯˜*•. ɊǷǷﺎﻣɊƲՏȻ .•*˜✯
James Atlloud: ☀..·♬·..•✶•..·♬·..☀
Forest Azure: applause!
Cuteulala Artis: i will be holding concerts with this soon, This orchestra has a youtube channel where the songs will be posted.
Alan Scot: is there no setting any more for sound volume at AV vs camera ?
Lyr Lobo: blending in the instrument and increasing your sounds helped me to hear it very well indeed
whirli placebo: what instruments are the cats? percussion of some sort?
Boujee Gamergirl: it is the Meow Synth
Boujee Gamergirl |
Farstar Enoch: synth cats
Thirza Ember: it's synthcatic
Star Ravenhurst: I can't imagine how much work it must have taken to get everything to play in sync. This is quite an accomplishment! Bravo!! the whole thing works beautifully, bringing several of our senses together.
whirli placebo: yes indeed star, i can't either..an amazing amount of time and patience
Cuteulala Artis: It is called the Meow Synth: VST
James Atlloud: Nice! MeowSynth 2000™
Farstar Enoch: When I met Cuteuala she was working on a instrument in my sandbox in SL thats how we met and that was at least 15 years ago... she has been building and improving her instruments for decades
Cuteulala Artis: There was no room for a single mistake in the numbering of the notes or the notecards that has the data i started this 11 years ago, it played BAD, of course, at start haha
Star Ravenhurst: It was all well worth your effort.
Cuteulala Artis: The next 5 track song is: give life back to music. This is the last full kit song i have but i have other solos to play.. Song is by Daft Punk
James Atlloud: Can you export something like a FruityLoops scroll into an opensim notecard? I imagine not.
Cuteulala Artis: yes you can, In fact i wrote a program to convert a midi into a notecard, it splits the track inside the notecard that scripts in world read
James Atlloud: Oh that's excellent.
Cuteulala Artis: Next song: Give life back to music by Daft Punk
James Atlloud: I need a Daft Punk outfit (note to self)
Thirza Ember: we need more music related outfits
Cuteulala Artis: ok now some solos - track ones are done hehe, was able to add 5 before the visit Next song is Cat Mambo! its a solo
James Atlloud: So cool. I wonder if any Lindens will see this?
Lyr Lobo: the cats are so charming
Farstar Enoch: Cute did receive award from the Lindens for her contribution to music in Virtual worlds years ago, when we were in SL, long time ago
Alan Scot: movement of cats nicely complete and in sync to the music
Lyr Lobo: these sounds touch the heart
Farstar Enoch: true dat - the harmonic vibrations and calming and cut through the atmosphere ..hard to find the correct words
Thirza Ember: i feel bad for anyone who missed this part of the safari
Thirza Ember: i can't believe an hour has passed
Star Ravenhurst: One of the best hours!!
Forest Azure: i need to go, ty so much! a great safari!
Star Ravenhurst: Have a Great Day Take Care Forest
Farstar Enoch: bye Forrest thanks for coming... hahaha see Whirli dancing up there on top of the drums
Cuteulala Artis: Take care!
Lyr Lobo: i loved those tones, Cute... that last song was especially moving
Thirza Ember: this grid has some of the most innovative and cute things in opensim - you are amazing
Lyr Lobo / grins - magnificent, Cute, and thank you ...you make us so very happy
James Atlloud: happy
Farstar Enoch: hehe true one of the main reasons Cute builds - to make people happy
What a great find on the HG Thirza! This is what makes the Safari so important because I don't think I would have come across this any other way. Thank you!
