Equitopia

Our first stop this week was on pangea Grid, and grid owners Malon Wayne and Tutz Gabelin were there to meet us along with region builder Mys Tigerpaw. To try to make life easer in this baabel of various native tongues, Marlon wore the translator orb on his head so we could join it and remaain within its range even when we moved around the sim.

Mys Tigerpaw: Welcome to Equitopia everyone! Please let me know when you are all rezzed.

George Equus: Hi all. sorry I am late.

Mys Tigerpaw: As you can see, my name is Mys and  I am a born horse nut. In RL I work with horses, doing osteopathy, massage, acupressure and deep fascia treatment on them. Equitopia has been really fun for me to build. If you have any questions , don’t hesitate to ask. I will do my best to answer them.

Mys Tigerpaw: I figured that we start off with a little tour of the stables , so please follow me. I tend to rush , so shout if I am going to fast :0)

Thirza Ember: how many horses here?

Mys Tigerpaw: ooh hmm..i haven't counted

James Atlloud: I really like how the tack is organized - so elegant.

Forest Azure: do they breed?

Mys Tigerpaw: noo Forest. To the right is the riders lounge, or the club room so to speak, where one can hang when one is not riding.  To the left is my office :0) Please feel free to look around and then we gather here in the courtyard again when you feel that you are ready to continue the tour

James Atlloud: A very nice living space upstairs there too.

Thirza Ember: the horse poop is really efficiently cleaned up here

James Atlloud: poop robots maybe? roombapoop

Mys Tigerpaw: in rl i would never have poo left on the ground, I clean the paddocks daily

Thirza Ember: the flowers and everything - so beautifully done

Marlon Wayne[de→en]: good fertilizer Thirza,  you can take a bag with you

Mys Tigerpaw: the reason I clean the paddocks from poop everyday, is to keep parasites down

James Atlloud: very important

Mys Tigerpaw: so i don't have to deworm the horses so often, since there is a problem with the parasites becoming immune to the dewormers

Thirza Ember: I  love the cups and ribbons inside the house

James Atlloud: yes, and many BLUE ribbons!

Mys Tigerpaw: Next to these stables is an open area with different riding games, we won’t try them today, but please come back and try them anytime.

Thirza Ember: how did you decide to build inworld - what was your motivation ? if you're busy with horses all day, how did you find the time?

Mys Tigerpaw: oh, I have built in SL for many years I had a sim there called Wonderoaks, for 13 years, and then Tutz asked me if I wanted to James Atlloud: aha!

Thirza Ember: ah! TV the time thief

Lavia Lavine: There's nothing on it worth watching these days.

Mys Tigerpaw: my last round to the stables is at 23.00, that is when they get their night feed. Horses need to be fed 4 times a day. they have small stomachs

Forest Azure: /me thinks dreamily of night feeds

Mys Tigerpaw: okidoki, lets continue down to the other stables... infrared heating to keep the muscles in check

James Atlloud: I like all the Birch trees.

Mys Tigerpaw: i love when i come to stables in rl that have infrared heating, especially in winter

Thirza Ember: in sweden is it difficult to look after horses, since the temperature ccan get very cold?

Mys Tigerpaw: yes right now i am fighting the ice, the water freezes in the pipes

Thirza Ember: are there different horses for different temperature zones?

Mys Tigerpaw: horses actually have a comfort zone of -15 celsius to +15 celsius, so they are rarely cold,: unless u cut their coat of course

Forest Azure: oh, i'm envious

Mys Tigerpaw: thoroughbreds are not as resilient to cold as for example a fjord horse or a friesian

 Lavia Lavine: What breeds of horses do you have Mys Tigerpaw?

Mys Tigerpaw: I have a friesian and a appaloosa

James Atlloud: I can't think but that every horse here has a name.

Mys Tigerpaw: yes all horses have names

Mys Tigerpaw: The dotted horse that is tied up here, is a poser, if you want to take pictures with him just click him and select your poses :0)

Mys Tigerpaw: I was thinking that we should go for a little ride around the sim, there  is a horse rezzer over here,

James Atlloud: Where in OpenSim did you get Horse Biscuits!!?!

Thirza Ember: is there a story behind the build that you want to tell us?

Mys Tigerpaw: i suppose i just built my dream horse world

Marlon Wayne[de→en]: Feel free to come back every now and then and take a look at the neighboring sims from mys

Mys Tigerpaw: these horses cant walk well on hills so that is why it is flat everywhere

James Atlloud: It was fun riding by the waves
