Neverworld's Niagara

Fifty meters deep at its deepest, and 35 km wide at its widest, the Niagara River and its famous Falls are without doubt one of the great natural wonders of the world. Sacred to the Iroquois and forming the border between the USA and Canada, the Falls sprawl over the history of the continent, in so many fields - natural history, geology, engineering, spirituality, tourism, bravado, ecology, brewing, and so many more.
If, for you, the idea of traveling to see Niagara is kind of pie in the sky, then you can do the next best thing and experience them virtually by going over to Neverworld. The NWG team led by grid owner Govega Sachertorte have done a wonderful job in suggesting the nearby towns and giving a really wonderful sense of the vastness of the river and the drama of the two falls.
People are often tempted to ruin a rl build by throwing in a random Stonehenge or Eiffel tower just to zhuzh it up a bit, which of course it doesn't. Long before the rise of computers the best kind of AI - Authentic Intelligence - the intelligence to let the place speak for itself. The sounds and sights here will transport you right into the spray.
You  don't have to put in every last detail, but like a painter or sculptor, you convey the sense of the subject without adding irrelevancies. By doing so, you pay your audience the compliment of knowing they 'get it' and you also give them the gift of a singularly memorable experience.
Here, they have skipped over much of the built-up nature of this part of the world, and focused on the water, the houses lend proportion to the majesty of the countryside. Where buildings are featured, they fit in beautifully. Here you can see the Clifton Hill ferris wheel and Skylon, representing the tourist promenade and the hectic, almost Vegas like, style of entertainment.
Above the falls, the sheer size of the river takes your breath away. The little town of Niagara on the Lake, often called Ontario's prettiest town, is neatly represented with its distinctive central towers, built a century ago to commemorate the fallen of World War I.
This is Neverworld, so of course, two things... there is a fabulous road system, ideal for driving (remember they have a weekly road trip on Wednesdays at 2pm Grid Time) like this wonderful tunnel under the falls, and here in the little town there's a freebie shop, probably several - the one I spotted has flowers in it (it's center left in this photo) and there is also a charming pub,
the Rose and Crown, I spy the handiwork of the great Mr Smokes here in the gorgeous details of the public bar.
The boat service that allows you to experience the falls up close and splashable is the famous  'Maid of the Mist' - the inworld version changes Maid to Maiden but the boat is a pretty faithful take on the current real life boats, which are all electric.
The company was founded in 1846, the original purpose was to provide a ferry service but once a bridge was built linking Canada with the USA that primary function was no longer needed - however the public's delight in getting wet at the foot of the falls has never dampened...
At time of writing, the boat didn't operate for random visitors like myself, but perhaps in the future they'll make a mini tour that anyone adventuring here can take to get the full effect of the thundering waters.  Either way, this build is a delightful vacation destination in the great indoors that is Opensim.
