Safari Visits Vulcano

Our first stop this week was on Bloodmoon grid, run by Vlad and Vanessa Van Helsing, previously owners of Virtual Dreams grid, and before that, the beautiful Les Carpathes grid, among other iterations. Largely a francophone grid, today on Bloodmoon we met up with the Spanish-speaking  Arponera Vulcano  together with her beautiful and creative family - Jaina and Desiree Vulcano. 

Lots of people showed up in solidarity with the Vulcanos, so there were already about 12 people at the arrival point before the Safari group headed over there at exactly 12 noon SLT - yeah, we try to be good guests and not show up early when the hostess is still putting on her lipstick and setting out the canapes!

A big group inevitably leads to some arrival lag but we did pretty well this time. A lot of that is thanks to the fact that Safari goers try not to wear super complex avies (in other words, less than 300k complexity) and they also mostly try to keep their MySuitcase as empty as possible, just to give the grid a chance to absorb our arrival. Keeping draw distance down to something around half the maximum possible setting is also a good move. Why? Your Viewer, when you arrive in a new place, communicates with the new sim (and 'child' or adjacent sims) and grabs info on every object, script, texture etc within draw distance. Exhausting! But we did really well and soon Arpo was able to begin her introduction.  

Arponera Vulcano: shouts: Welcome to Vulcano Stirpe. We have created this place for everyone to enjoy. In Vulcano, you will find many hidden corners. From the castle, you will be able to see this Sim in its entirety. We have a vampire area, a fairy area, a mermaid area, a pirate area, a dragon area, a Celtic area, a wedding area, a witch area, a witch area, a magic enchantment area. We also have a huge area of gothic and magical decoration shops. Soon we will have gothic and fantasy clothing shops. We won't have time to visit the whole sim but we will show you a part of it and hope you will come and visit it later. Feel free to explore at your own pace as we begin the tour.

Arponera Vulcano:  We begin the visit in our castle, this is a vampire role-playing grid, and therefore, vampires are a main part of our sim. This castle is immense; it would be impossible to show you everything it has, so we'll show you the most accessible areas: the throne room, the weapons room, and the main dining room. You should come and visit all the other rooms and discover the secret passages for yourself. If you zoom in, you'll see that there are many rooms.

Arponera Vulcano [es→en]: This castle features private rooms, family rooms, a conversion area, dungeons, and beautiful relaxation areas in the towers. This is one of our halls, the castle has a library and more than 20 different decorated rooms

We are still building, everything will have animations.  If you move the zoom, you can see the rest of the rooms, but there are so many that we will not be able to show you anymore, so we hope you will see it again

Thirza Ember: can you tell us who are the builders?

Arponera Vulcano [es→en]: The constructions were by Desiree, Jain a and two more friends than already here. The decoration is mine, other parts have been Jaina and Desiree

We headed off to the second area of the region. The wedding or 'Bodas' area is a seaside build and has these very appropriately red-tinged waves on the ocean. 

 Arponera Vulcano [es→en]:  We've reserved this area for Gothic and Vampire weddings. Right next door, there's a labyrinth. If you're able to solve it, don't hesitate to enter

Next up was the Pirate's build. Just to show how people's imaginations just fire off in different directions when they see the places you make, look at this sample of ideas spontaneously expressed as we entered the cave.

Arpo crashed, but quickly came back, and taught us all a new word that's ideal for virtual worlds and the constant risk of being kicked and rushing back online.
