Dangazi Win-Win

Our very last stop this season was on a small but riotously lovely grid called Shipyards, the HG Address is as always at the end of the post. You may remember our epic tour of another sim here, the Dew Drop Islands. Today instead, it was the turn of The Dangazi Forest, we were on a walking tour in countryside with an interesting origin story. Owned by Danger Lytton and Azi Az, who were both on hand to welcome us at the small island in the stream.
Danger Lytton: Hello and Welcome.  Please be sure to set your ENVIRONMENT to shared and set MEDIA to automatic.  Take a copy of the umbrella by mousing over it and clicking. We are in a rain forest so you will want it.  And finally touch the TP board to the sea shell beach and wait for all of us there. You can go beachcombing there and find the 20 or so beautiful sea shells while you wait for the others to arrive.
Azi waiting for us on the seashore
Tina Bey: jeje veo a todos desnudos lol
Tosha Tyran: yes, Tina, me too ah, I was too much time in the sun my ass is all burned
Azi Az: here you can hunt for shells. If you enjoy beach combing there are nice shells to collect on this beach :)))
Nara Nook: I got a seashell
Tosha cooling her tush in the Shipyards sea
Azi Az:  They are very easy to find
Danger Lytton: there are 20 - u can take a couple minutes to look if you wish
Thirza Ember: very quick rez here for me - how about everyone else?
Nara Nook: me too
Maia Antarra: I'm good
Dings Digital: All is rezzed
Danger Lytton: ok we will go down the beach this way
Danger Lytton: so a little history. The dangazi forest was originally a contest between me and Azi. Its a 3 by 3 var. We split it in half to see who could do the best design. She says I won, I say she won... so we will see?
Azi Az: he won definitely lol
Thirza Ember: competition is great for creativity
Azi Az: yes we love that
We strolled down the beach until we came to a fierce dragon's head opening in the cliff. Those eyes were a bit worrying - is the dragon completely dead, and is it wise to enter his mouth? We're a trusting lot.
Danger Lytton: the tunnel is narrow and at the end we will go up a spiral staircase, so single file please
Star Ravenhurst: That gives a whole new meaning to "spiral staircase". I was able to traverse it very well.
James Atlloud: I 'always' turn left.. doesn't always work out!
James Atlloud: so.. many.. stairs
Forest Azure: you should go to the gym more, james
James Atlloud: the gym?  what's that?  lol
Danger Lytton: might want your umbrellas now
Danger Lytton: so we are now in the heart of the forest... very wet... we will go this way now, ponds and birds and hobbit houses.
Thirza Ember: glad i scotch guarded my hair before I came out
Maia.Antarra: hard to see past the umbrella
Danger Lytton: scroll back on ur mouse wheel a little
Thirza Ember: it's very damp but delightful
Danger Lytton: when i build - i like water to come from somewhere and go somewhere - no waterfalls coming out of a hill.
Thirza Ember: you need a forest for your ship building projects
Danger Lytton: The forest was originally a thriving woodsmen community, but a dragon moved in, and either scared them off or ate them; the dragon left but no one came back, so its now a shipyards grid national forest,  protected.
Nara Nook: This is really pretty It's raining in the forest where I live today so feels like home
James Atlloud:  It's raining in my RL too!
Thirza Ember: speaking of this grid is it just you and Azi here, or are there other residents?
Azi Az: yes
Danger Lytton: this is the forest rangers guard shack... he has interesting tastes in decor and a broken door
Nara Nook: bears
Dings Digital: the Buddha Hobbit
Thirza Ember: what part of building do you love best, Azi and Danger? Textures, mesh, placing objects, finding objects, landscaping...?
Danger Lytton: all of the above? we use Blender, we make our own meshes and textures, arranging everything is art
Neo Cortex: Yeah, I think it is all about combining it into something great
Star Ravenhurst: Virtual is like a canvas we use to create art.
Azi Az: all the bunch together till it makes a whole :)))
Danger Lytton: ok we will go see the ghost town quickly, and then to Azi's side
Forest Azure: /me makes notes for later scoring
Danger Lytton: not everyone made it when they evacuated, this poor fellow broke a wheel
Dings Digital: beautiful landscaping
Tina Bey studies the skeleton
Thirza Ember: poor guy. he looks like he was on a diet before he died
James Atlloud: The racoon took all his food.
Danger Lytton: he was the dragons diet
Dings Digital: he was a tall guy
Danger Lytton: ok we go back across the bridge towards the guard shack and then down towards azi's side...there is much to see on this region and I have skipped parts I wish we could go to - but feel free to come back at any time
James Atlloud: The sound in the media channel is perfect - so ideal for the ambience
Looking at the high bridge, from the low bridge
Danger Lytton: Thank you. It will change when we go into Azi's lagoon. Be sure to keep environment and media turned on, stop here and turn to the right... u can see what we believe is the highest suspension bridge in opensim
Dings Digital: yay
Danger Lytton: it used to sway in the wind, but people fell off...
James Atlloud: cool
Whirli Placebo: sway!!!!!! nice
Azi's half of the build is called Quinta del la Regaleira a house in Sintra, Portugal, that dates from the 16th century but was remodeled in the 19th century and imbued with all kinds of features, symbolism, and architecture to reflect the owner's fascination with freemasonry. Azi's build is a riff on that theme, and of course has all her aesthetic and style, making it totally enchanting.
Nara Nook: I love the floating statue
Tosha Tyran: Azi, it is dream
Thirza Ember: Danger, are you and Azi working with PBR yet? do you think you will?
Danger Lytton: yes,  but not much on this region yet, in our osgrid region i have started to change some textures
Thirza Ember: do you find it a challenge?
Danger Lytton: yes
Neo Cortex: I wonder why you put your sounds in the media channel
Danger Lytton: because some sounds are good for entire region and some are good in a prim, here is mostly media
Nara Nook: not as many scripts running this way
Danger Lytton: that's right Nara. Come this way, the elephant is trumpeting
Whirli Placebo: this area is soooo beautiful
Azi Az: Thank you Whirli :)))
Nara Nook: I love all the activity in the build it feels so alive
Whirli Placebo: most alive sim i've ever seen
Forest Azure: so when are we going to vote?
Danger Lytton: elephants are making sounds, you hear?
Maia Antarra: they're quite loud
Thirza Ember: the sounds really lift it into another dimension
George Equus: Looking for peanuts in my pockets...
Nara Nook: the birds sound happy
Azi Az: i always try my best to give the places i build the real feel of it.....always having a tenuous line between real and fantasy :)))
Dings Digital: now who is going to play the harp?
Danger Lytton: we like to build using narrow passageways that lead to nooks and crannies, makes the region seem much bigger... and leads to a surprise hidden village
Maia Antarra: I like those narrow passageways too... what a cute village
Thirza Ember: THAT'S where I left my car! been looking for it for ages
Danger Lytton: we wondered who it belonged to
Azi Az: ohhhhhhhhhh so now we know who was thye owner of the car
Danger Lytton: it has accrued a ton of parking fines
Star Ravenhurst: I don't think it runs any more Thirza.
Danger Lytton: Azi made a claustro.
The claustro
Danger Lytton: George is tired
George Equus: He is  a bit
Thirza Ember: hey, it's the final stop on the final safari of this season lol he can sleep tomorrow
Star Ravenhurst: I will need new legs.
Forest Azure: even four!
Danger Lytton: ok one more place to go see stop here for a moment
Azi Az: i must say this spot isnt finished yet
Danger Lytton: we are working on a big new project - a grid wide railroad there is a sim crossing ahead to go up to a new station the railroad is about 1/3 complete takes some time... this will be the train station for dangazi forest just needs time to finish laying the track
Dings Digital: wow, train and submarine in one
Danger Lytton: the train will run 24/7 when its done
James Atlloud: I saw the tracks on the world map - so cool
Danger Lytton: yeah - look at world map everyone, you can see where it goes so far.
Taarna Welles: Almost to my grid!
Neo Cortex: That's a lotta coal you'll need
Star Ravenhurst: This has been the perfect ending of the Safari season. Thank you Danger and Azi for the tour. Thanks Thirza for organizing the Safari events for all of us to enjoy. I hope to see everyone in the Fall when we return.
Maia Antarra: thanks for the tour Danger, a lovely place and getting lovelier too
James Atlloud: I can't say how open it all feels - it's a pleasant walk and I feel welcome.
George Equus: Great tour !
Neo Cortex: I love all you creative people!
Dings Digital: very wonderful and very impressive.
Danger Lytton: ok azi wins
Neo Cortex: Nah, we are the winners, because we get to see it all!

  1. I very much enjoyed this visit - both Danger and Azi have a wonderful sense of design with an openness that I find welcoming without being sparse or empty. I was back 2 nights later and enjoyed seeing more that I missed during Safari. Thank you Danger and Azi, and of course thank you Thirza for a great Safari season. September feels so far away for the next season - the anticipation will just build over the summer.
