First stop of the day, and after an exhausting week, inworld and out, this was one of those absolutely perfect tours that we dream of on Safari. New hosts for us, but hopefully they will let us come and bother them again, on Wolf Territories. The sim is called Westeros Medieval RP and as always the HG Address can be found at the end of the post.

Wolf Territories Grid, where the Westeros Medieval RP sim is located, has Display Names enabled, like Mobius (and SL obviously) so you can change your name. But not everyone in Opensim has that enabled in their Preferences (There's a whole post about Display Names in opensim here) so our guide's name seemed to some Mira C, to others Mina C. Either way, she looked lovely and she was at the landing point together with Steve, and Mina's soon to be husband - they tie the knot this Sunday - Max C. More of Max's kingliness later.
Mina C (mira.c): This is our landing area, the barn on my farm, we have the group joiner there on the wall, our online board, the teleporters to the different areas as you can see we have many interesting places here in Westeros to visit, and each panel is the teleport to that specific area. and over here our roleplay board showing some of the roleplay stories thus far. We started building this magnificent land in July of last year and opened for roleplays around October. Now, this gentleman is Steve the land owner, and the gentleman with the crown is King Max, and I am Mina your tour guide for today.

Steve Zodi: me too , loved it. We chose to do so cause of the great mapping and possible storylines, but we are medieval focussed mainly. Not only games of thrones
Mina C (mira.c): (If everyone is ready just follow me and click on the Redkeep panel on the wall here, and we will start our tour there. in addition, please feel free to cam around inside and out of each destination to get a more complete view of the castle and grounds)
Mina C (mira.c): WELCOME TO WESTEROS! We are now on the continent of Westeros and in a large political entity known as the Seven Kingdoms. The Seven Kingdoms are ruled by a monarch who sits on the Iron Throne in King's Landing. Those kingdoms are spread across nine regions: the North, the Iron Islands, the Riverlands, the Vale, the Westerlands, the Stormlands, the Reach, the Crownlands, and Dorne.
Mina C (mira.c): The Red Keep is the residence of the King, his family and his court, located within King's Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. It dominates the skyline of the city and serves as the city's primary fortress . It also houses the Small Council, the royal privy council and government.

Mira C: The massive throne room of the Red Keep is where the Iron Throne is as you can see here. The King (or his Hand, in the event of the King's absence), holds court and receives petitioners within the throne room. It is also employed for official ceremonies, such as the coronation of the king which was held recently and the future coronation of the Queen.

Thirza Ember: it's not easy to capture the sense of a place, this is really well done
Mira C: Here we are in the Kingdom of the North and this is Winterfell Castle. Winterfell is the ancestral castle, and is considered to be the capital of the north. It is in the center of the northernmost province of the Seven Kingdoms, Winterfell has been built around an ancient godswood and over natural hot springs. The water is piped through walls and chambers to heat them, making Winterfell more comfortable than other castles during the harsh northern winters.

Mira C: Inside the walls, the complex is composed of dozens of courtyards and small open spaces. Weapons training and practice take place in those yards. The inner ward is a second, much older open space in the castle where archery practice takes place. It is located next to the broken tower. Inside Winterfell stands the inner castle, which contains the Great Keep and the Great Hall. Winterfell's towers and halls have diamond-shaped window panes.
Mira C: Over to our left, is The Wall. It is a massive 700-foot-tall ice wall that runs east–west for 300 miles along the northern border of the Kingdom of the North, separating the realm from the domain of the wildlings who live beyond.
Steve Zodi: the wall is in my direction a bit far behind you can see it if you cam
Star Ravenhurst: Do you have those scary ghost people? I forget what they are called
Forest Azure: are the Others on the other side?
Steve Zodi: There could be Forest, . On the other side of the wall, its a mystery and risky to go there
Mira C: Any Questions?
Cherry B: the background of all is the game of thrones ?
Max C: Cherry : Yes, everything you see on the land is Game of Thrones themed.

Thirza Ember: i'm curious if it's ok for people to drop in any time or if there are special RP times when visitors are probably not so welcome
Mira C: well yes of course Thirza the more the merrier! we have visitor tags
Steve Zodi: yes anyone is welcomed here, as long as they are adults of course.
Thirza Ember: have you, or would you consider, meeting up with other RP groups? to do a sort of crossover event, if your RP themes are quite close
Mira C: looks to Steve and Max, I don't see why not.....
Steve Zodi: yes we actually are planning to visit other RP land, we already made a few contacts on that effect. We usually do even in the past we did conjoined RP from one place to another.
Max C: Thirza : other RP groups sounds exciting, yes, sure. They are also welcome to come and RP here if they like.

Mira C: a huge departure from our last destination is Sunspear, here in the desert... also known as the Old Palace, and the capital of Dorne. Sunspear is a settlement, protected by massive walls.

Mira C: One of Sunspear's chief structures is the original stronghold the Sandship, which is a large building that looks like a dromond. Over time, towers in Rhoynish fashion sprung up around the castle. Two other chief structures are the tall and slender Spear Tower and the great, domed Tower of the Sun. The Spear Tower is a hundred and a half feet high, and can house noble prisoners. In the Tower of the Sun, the high seats of the Prince of Dorne can be found: two twin seats, one with the Martell spear inlaid in gold upon its back, the other bearing the blazing Rhoynish sun. These two towers are the first things visitors see when they arrive at Sunspear, whether by land or by sea.

Steve Zodi: As you can see already, all castles are unique and different, have their own particular styles
Thirza Ember: how do you work your roleplay each time, do you feature one or other castle each time? like a location for the 'episode'?
Steve Zodi: if i am not mistaken there are about 12 to 14 castles/locations on this land to see and roleplay in
Star Ravenhurst: That is a lot of castles!

Steve Zodi: well, actually it depends of the roleplay scenery, but we tend to go on each and everyone of them creating reasons to do so, yes
Steve Zodi: we just opened Cherry, we do have about 5 to 6 officially regular roleplayers, but we have a good few that just learned we exist and we have events, lately we had like 14 people on the land, and in the meeting we were 9 to discuss the future adventures
Mira C: and each castle has a Lord or lady to run it so you can petition the king for that to be such of a land of your choosing
Thirza Ember: did you start out in SL and then come here?
Steve Zodi: i personally started in sl, long ago, but our Westeros saw the light only in opensim, here

| Casterly Rock |
Mira C: Casterly Rock, also known simply as the Rock, is the ancestral stronghold of House Lannister. It is located on the western coast of Westeros on a rocky promontory overlooking the Sunset Sea. Casterly Rock is as you can see, carved into a massive stone hill, making it virtually impossible to conquer through conventional means. This makes it a powerful stronghold and a symbol of Lannister power.
Thirza Ember: so - that's another question - who do you identify with in the stories? Or do you play a little bit of each of the Families?
Steve Zodi: Many Lord and Lady positions are vacant all over Westeros. In other words, some of the castles and housing you saw are available to live in
Forest Azure: i thought lannister very handsome, for an old man
Max C: Thirza: We choose a role, and stay in it. With the many castles and housings around it's easy to build and expand an RP life here.

Thirza Ember: Did you guys do RP before game of thrones became a thing, and if so, what kind?
Steve Zodi: yes we did medieval roleplay before, it was my first go to like 12 years ago
Max C: Thirza : We were the first to build a Game of Thrones based land, shortly after the series came out. Before we mostly did medieval and Gorean lands.
Steve Zodi: our very first Westeros was in GCG at the time, its been like hum 8 years ago.. i think? So we have a long time experience in medieval roleplay, and we actually like it very much. Since everything is not modern and technology in those times, everything is manual and fun to build and creative. For us its a very good way to be creative and have fun in community. We are not the usual roleplay in tavern, we actually have adventures
Mal Burns: 20 years ago I was on medieval land in SL treehouse and had to RP wizard as excuse to bring all my toys from the future
Mira C: we strive very hard to make it so that you are transported back to ye olden times
Thirza Ember: I think it's glorious here
