Happy 17th Birthday OSGrid

Yes, it's that time of the year again, as OSgrid is celebrating its 17th anniversary from July 22 to 28.   As always, there are a whole lot of parties planned, and as well as the usual dancing, there's a special emphasis on music, because the theme of the Birthday Expo builds this year is exactly that.
As always the builders of OSGrid have come through with some special builds celebrating the field. There are four regions, and it's recommended to use region environment settings in order to see the installations at their best. Wow are we all getting old or what? The first time I covered this event was a ten years ago... These were the exhibits, on that occasion.
Victoria Logan's delicious little dancing park has a very apt message board 'Music connects generations, crossing barriers of time and space" and this installation is just on of the gems on show this year. Here's a few hints - you should definitely go yourself to see these builds properly when everything's in place and up and running.

The number one expo sim has some lovely stuff by Caro Fayray, Prince Amor, Dan Banner's media build (blogged here a couple of weeks back), a couple of classic dance venues by Crazy Ever,  musical and nautical offerings by Az Az and Danger Lytton,  and much more...

...including Whippin Tavgo, and Caribia Zsun - we can also expect builds by Deanna Janus, Patinha Babii, and others on this region, with its distinctive OSGrid logo shape, by the time the event begins on July 22.
OSG17B2 the second expo sim

But wait, there's more!
OSG17B2 is another expo sim and it has another bunch of pretty, interesting, and thoughtful exhibits. Here Tina Bey rubs shoulders with Forest AzureValentine MichaelSmith has an intriguing build about moons and horns; Bloom Peters aka Cuteulala Artis is here, her legendary music machine is unmissable! and there's a nice note-worthy build by grid admin Paela Argus...
...alongside Violetta Biziou with a touch of the vinyl, and animesh, all in a range of silvery greyscale ...
and the build by  Mystic Moonlight is a vibrant mashup of pinks and blues...
Not supposed to have favorites, but  Matilda's World won my heart, it's a music school. Matilda Charron is so fun and witty, and everything about this interactive installation is spot on. Just charming and entertaining.

The OSgrid birthday festivities will last about a week, and there will be loads of  DJs and live singers on Event Plaza, but don't neglect this part of the fun, because it is a way to better know your neighbors, and get inspired by them. There are potentially two more expo sims, so if you're still thinking about showing your pride as an OSGrid resident, there's still time, and hope to see you there!
