At Atlantis

A trip to Bridgemere  has been much overdue for the Safari, and because of differences in timezones (shakes fist at round planet!) it wasn't possible for us to meet all the crew. But Hairy Thor very kindly deputized as guide and factotum, and we thank him for that. The HG Address for this trip is - as always - at the end of the post.
James Atlloud: huh, I thought I was running late - lol
Thirza Ember: No, perfect timing, whenever you guys are ready, Hairy awaits us at destination 1 - please use the Local environment setting, go ahead and jump to Atlantis on Bridgemere first
Beth Ghostraven: see you there!
Somehow my foolish upgrade to the latest FS for opensim meant my Environments don't work right. Every time I land on the Atlantis sim on Bridgemere, I see a sky with Saturn in it. The sky, Hairy assured us several times, has Jupiter in it.
For people without a borked Firestorm viewer, you no doubt see the correct sky immediately. If you don't, then open Quick Preferences on your toolbar, and hit the little X next to 'Personal Lighting'.  Since that wasn't an option for me, and remembering that Azi Az also uses this particular EEP, I hopped over to Dew Drop Islands on Shipyards Grid, loaded the sky there, and then just kept it active (by not touching environment settings) when I jumped over to Bridgemere.
IMA Parcel Board v09dev: Welcome back. Please enjoy your stay at Atlantis.
Beth Ghostraven: Hairy, will you be using text or voice for the tour?
Hairy Thor: Thirza suggested text for today
Beth Ghostraven: ok thanks, I appreciate it
Forest Azure: /me is, as always, confused by the 2 thirza's
Thirza Ember: lol, my cunning plan
Star Ravenhurst: So many of us!
Hairy Thor: Welcome to Amaranthim Talon's interpretation of Atlantis, now located on one of the moons of Jupiter. Unfortunately, Amaranthim can't be here today to lead this tour, so I'll do my best to showcase her work.  It is suggested that you use Shared Environment to experience the eerie glow on this moon, and also turn sounds on. We'll start by heading down this path toward the underwater water area where mermaids and other wonders reside.
Thirza Ember: pretty quick rez for so many of us
Beth Ghostraven: Thirza, we need some kind of glowing beacon to give our tour guides to wear
James Atlloud: @beth - maybe a disco ball hat?
Beth Ghostraven: James, maybe a gigantic glowing exclamation point?
Hairy Thor: Just waiting on folks to catch up
Star Ravenhurst: Hi Tim. I almost stepped on you there
Hairy Thor: As you cam around, you'll see other things that we will look closer at when we come back up.  Throughout the region, there are many places to sit and just ponder life.

Thirza Ember: all this walking is so healthy
Hairy Thor: lol
Hairy Thor: Amaranthim has tried to incorporate many long lost eras into the build, Egyptian, Celtic, Greek, and Alien, just to mention some of them. Watch your step as we descend.
LadyK Braveheart: Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ LOL Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
Thirza Ember: i hope this dress is color fast
Hairy Thor: There are many things to see in both directions, but due to limited time, we will head east today. Down here you will see both the Greek and Fantasy aspects; or are Mermaids actually real?
Thirza Ember: nice submarine!
Hairy Thor: yellow at that °͜°
So much underwater detail including this lantern fish
Star Ravenhurst: This is fun!
Hairy Thor: Many a ship has been lost down here. Careful you don't bump into a Seahorse.
Forest Azure: why not? are they dangerous?
James risks it all by sitting on the seahorses
Hairy Thor: no idea, but Amarantim tells me they're fun to ride. This was one of the first sims she made when Bridgemere opened. These stairs are a little problematic, due to their age, but with persistence, you can make it to the top.
Forest Azure: /me holds to her bear dearly, for some air if needed
Hairy Thor and Amara (short for Amaranth Talon) met in Inworldz, when it first opened - which was back in 2009. That's a long collaboration, and a tribute to the constancy of friendship and collaboration in what many consider a very transient environment.
Hairy Thor: As mentioned earlier, there are many spots to sit and take in the scenery...  all sorts of nooks and crannies to sit and think. I still get lost in here >(◕‿◕)<
Nara Nook: and so very inspiring
Star Ravenhurst: I really like this ground texture. It works very well.
Hairy Thor: The ground texture is something Amaranthim bought
Thirza Ember: Hairy, do you run the grid? how does it work here?
Hairy Thor: Yes, I run it.  We are hosted on two servers at Contabo
Thirza Ember: and are your residents well behaved, or like the folk on osgrid, unruly?
Forest Azure: lol, are they?
Thirza Ember: (speaking of myself, of course)... and how many members are there on Bridgemere?
Forest Azure: of course :)
Hairy Thor: All our residents are very well behaved °͜°   I think we're just over 60 residents. We're small
Thirza Ember: wow not that small... is there an overall style on the grid? or does everyone have their own creative look?
Hairy Thor: When it comes to Mainland, those connected to it, are asked to stay within the theme of their neighbour, or create an easement for the transition
Atlantean oracle temple
Thirza Ember: that's nice, no sudden jarring changes
LadyK Braveheart: How many people helped put this together?
Hairy Thor: This region was solely made by Amaranthin
Hairy Thor: In the ancient Greek pavilion, there is an Oracle's ball hanging.
Oracle: Every end holds the seeds of a new beginning
Oracle: A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving. Lao Tzu
Oracle: When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.Lao Tzu
Thirza Ember: what did the oracle predict about the safari?
LadyK Braveheart: /me gigglez Thirza
Forest Azure: that there will be many bottles to wash
Hairy Thor: That my knees would knock, as I'm not use to hosting >(◕‿◕)<
Thirza Ember: you are doing a fantastic job
LadyK Braveheart: Thanks Hairy, good job.
Beth Ghostraven: Yes, I agree! Great job!
Beautiful Atlantean thrones
Hairy Thor: ty folks... This is where we started out.  Now we'll head over to the stone ruins. Little Fairies can be found back here sometimes. Be sure to cam around and see if you can find them
Beth Ghostraven: I see a blue one that looks like a frog! oh wait, that's humbletim
Forest Azure: mmm.. no holy water for me :)
Hairy Thor: We'll now head over to the other side of the region... oops, I just lagged out...  I'll relog, brb
Thirza Ember: WB, don't worry, slower is better for us, that gives us time to take pics, Hairy
Beth Ghostraven: I like how you keep moving us around, and waiting in between for people to catch up

Hairy Thor: We'll head over to the other side of the region now. Next time you decide to pop over for a visit, Amaranthim has a region just over the bridge called Rima. It's a forested area and also has a Winter scene on one side of it.  Then to the west of Rima, she has another region called Tun Ill Haa, a Mayan region.
LadyK Braveheart: cool
Hairy Thor: In here is her Crystal cave.  Don't mind the bat.
James Atlloud: What are the odds - I stepped on the bat!
Beth Ghostraven: poor bat!
Thirza Ember: James is the ozzy osbourne of the safari
James in the crystal cave. Apologies.
Hairy Thor: Not sure how much time we have left, but back near where you landed, there is a portal that will take you up to a weigh station, and from there, a portal to take you to the Space Station. I don't think the Aliens will mind if we cut in ahead of them. Just walk through the portal.
Mal Burns: not sure my avie needs a weigh station
LadyK Braveheart: that was quite an alien experience haha...
James Atlloud: jar jar?! That portal goes to 2 more portals things brings one back - whew! I feared my safari was over!
Beth Ghostraven: James, it would have become a personal safari :o)
LadyK Braveheart: I did that portal while waiting on Hairy to relog, it's cool
Hairy Thor: This is like the Customs Station, before gaining access to the Space Station.
James Atlloud: OH there's a solar system up above in this room.
Thirza Ember: is Mal at the bar? I hope he is buying
Roffellos Kisses: evening, better late than never!
Angelic Kisses: hope you're all well today
The Kisses couple arrived a bit late today, and this might be a good time to say: if you decide to join us and realize you're a little bit late, remember you can grab the LMs at the Clubhouse on HG Safari sim on osgrid and join us, any time during the two hours. We are at destination 1 for the first hour from 12 noon SLT, and we move swiftly to destination 2 at 1pm SLT. Occasionally one of our destinations will be spread across two regions, usually you'll find LMs to each, as our second destination was this week. In that case, the LMs are marked 2.1 and 2.2 so you know the order of business, and should in theory be able to catch up with us.
Hairy Thor: Walking onto this portal will take you up to the Space Station.
Hairy Thor: This is the Lunatic Lounge, where folks come to dance and/or relax.  If you cam out, you'll see the entire Space Station.
Angelic Kisses:- wow, this is an amazing view of the sim!
Thirza Ember: lunatic... just right for us then ! really great use of the space (pardon my pun)
Beth Ghostraven: Thirza, yes
Ard Rhys and Frank take it easy on Bridgemere
Hairy Thor: Up the stairs and down the hall, walk through the airlock to gain access to the main gangway. Up the stairs and down the hall, walk through the airlock to gain access to the main gangway. This portal over here, will take you into a simulator that has the calmness of Earth while you're on leave.  We won't enter there today, as it's cramped, but be sure to visit it when you return.

Hairy Thor: I get lost up here
Beth Ghostraven: Hairy, if you're lost, there's no hope for us! lol
Thirza Ember: thank you so much for doing this tour, Hairy, I don't think I would have found it all without you
Forest Azure: yes\
LadyK Braveheart: indeed
Beth Ghostraven: Hairy, you did a great job! I really like the variety, and the way we kept moving, while still waiting up for people
Star Ravenhurst: I agree you did an amazing tour. Thank you.
Hairy Thor: Be sure to hit the Like on Opensim World. Be sure to visit again and see all the other sims on our Mainland
Frank Gresham: thanks for the tour !
Thirza Ember: so much more to see here on Bridgemere, I'll be back for sure
James Atlloud: Sure! thank you Thor - so much imagination here!
Hairy Thor: Is all Amara that put this region together
Star Ravenhurst: I am sorry I didn't get to meet her. She did amazing creative magik here
Hairy Thor: She is at work atm. She didn't feel she could conduct the tour with having to close the window down every time the boss appeared  lol
Thirza Ember: I hope our pictures will do it justice great aliens!
Angelic Kisses: lovely grid Hairy...thank you you for the tour.
Roffellos Kisses: yes thanks ..be great to come back
Ard Rhys: Thanks for the tour, Hairy
Hairy Thor: ty for coming - come back anytime, our door is open 24/7, enjoy your next hop
