Easter Hunt at Mana

Literally speaking, 'Ignis Fatuus' means foolish fire, but there is nothing foolish about the fabulous builds on this outstandingly beautiful French grid. And once again, this spring, grid owners Max Well and Nadir Rae are making imaginations soar with their farfetched fantasies. An Easter Hunt, beginning on 20 April, is just part of the fun!

Here we are on Mana, on of a bunch of new regions springing up on Ignis - this is the region where the Hunt will be held. When you arrive in this intensely blue place, you're immediately reminded of the importance of music in the lives of these two creators, in particular, Nadir's love of piano which extends to her DJ work over in SL, something she's been doing for over a decade. Look at those waterside notes.

Those of us who were at the Hypergrid International Expo last weekend got a chance to know Nadir better listening to her lovely talk 'Once Upon a Time' where she told her story, oolala in French, you can see it on the HIE Youtube page, just click the little cog wheel to get the auto generated subtitles and follow her story.

The beautiful region is, as often happens the fruit of a collaboration of taste. Many times, Max or Nadir will discover a picture somewhere on the internet, something that speaks to them for its impossible beauty, its intrinsic storytelling qualities. They take the picture and make it into a walkable, relatable 3D space.
Inland, away from that seaside keyboard, this huge statue looms benignantly over the woodland and downs. But it's more than just a delicate sculpture... this girl has a village on her mind... and bunnies too!

It's important to point out that Ignis is not open 24/7 like a public grid might be. While there are a handful of residents, the main occupants ot Ignis are its owners, and they generally only have the grid up and running in the hours when they are online - the afternoon and evening hours in Europe. So if you have a LM to the grid and try to go there outside those hours, you may not get there. best advice - keep trying, at other times, because your effort will be fully repaid!
