"Hands" is a new installation on Pangea Grid, and the opening party yesterday was a delightfully relaxed party, attended by - among others - the two artists who collaborated in the making of the build, FeliX Ringtail and Lampithaler Artist.
A grey-green misty environment elevates and unites the elements of the build, creating a far-away feel, so appropriate when you think of Lampithaler's love of fairy tales.
Reaching to the sky, palms uppermost, stretching and spanning, the hands seem to grasp the very air, measuring it, caressing the atmosphere, inhabiting the platforms on which they stand. Below, boulders float provocatively on the teal-colored ether.
This calm and restful place raises questions of dimension and gravity, for the fundamental issues of space and shape that we first explore as children, with our hands. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, for Felix (best known in Second Life as Alpha Auer) has a far more down-to-earth view of it all.

| FeliX Ringtail FeliX.Ringtail: I just found these hands on sketchfab and said hmmm, these will look good together if i throw some prims around them. other than that never gave hands a second thought more than what one normally does... so i just gave you my trade secret... stumble across something, say hmmmm, throw it together and everyone thinks it is art or something. Lampithaler made the rest of the sim, she is the one who should really get the credit more than me. she did an outstanding job.  Lampithaler takes an equally straightforward approach to her beautiful creation. Here she is, dancing with another of Pangea's best loved artists, photographer, builder, and EEP maker extraordinaire, Nyx Breen. Lampi's strategy in building the sim couldn't be more simple - though certainly not plain.  |
