Dancing with Doro

Feriae Quinquennial and 1001 Nights are two wonderful regions by Dorothea Lundquist on OSGrid and really they're two of the regions we should be most proud of for their fabulous atmosphere and the quality of the textures and constructions. This was the first half of our trip, you'll find the photos of our second stop in the matching post called 'Mill-er Time' - a punny reference to Graham Mills, who puts up with a lot of ill-advised humor. He's a good guy.
Feriae in the mist
First up, the is a Roman themed build, Feriae Quinquennial which is a reference to the 5 year festival for OSGrid, no mean feat with all the turmoil of testing, crashes, competition and so on. OSgrid is going strong now, better than before and we can only hope that things continue to improve, and grow. It will do, if we encourage and support the devs, so i guess we need to be nice!
It's easy to be nice when you're on such fab sims, and in such great company.
As you can see the build is in the style of a roman villa, ad it's very complete, beautifully decorated inside and out. The friezes on the inside of the cupola are so delicate and gorgeous, it comes as no surprise when Doro reveals that she has a background in graphic art in her RL.
The buildings loom out of the fog, which gives them such a real feel, it's almost like being in Latium. Lots of mesh - less of a rarity in opensim these days than it was once upon a time - decorates the build to great effect.
In such glorious settings we all dressed up for the occasion, her is Wizardos Chrome looking the part, yet strangely abstract at the same time - good call!

The build has a bunch of outfits, also made by Dorothea, so it only takes a few moments for you to be dressed to impress, or to serve, if you prefer.  You can get all toga-d up, like Neo Cortex...

... Nara on the other hand went for a much more orthodox and simple look.

What Lundquist build would be complete without a few NPCs for the viewing pleasure of the elite. in this case Ange Menges on the couch ...
And of course for those who love architecture, there was plenty of eye candy out in the courtyard.

Spike Sol really got into this build, and who can blame her?
It's stunning, a real showcase of what can be done in our independent virtual worlds. And what a rock star Dorothea is, as a builder and set designer.
It only took her a few minutes to cast off her usual outfit and slip into something more comfy.
Jessica 'lifted' pixel and Mal Burns decided to keep Spike and Dorothea company, with some vary varied dancing styles. The NPC lady with the fan, can only look on in astonishment. Nice carpets, I wonder if they fly.
What can be done in virtual worlds?
Why dancing, dancing and then more dancing, of course!
