Craft's Sixteenth

 The Jubilee building on Craft is up and running and celebrating sixteen years of Opensim. It's an impressive achievement not only in technology but also in terms of community. 

The big party is on Tuesday, 27 January and the fun begins at 12 noon SLT, that's 9pm in most of Europe, on sim Jubilee, HG Address at the end of the post as always.

Craft owner Licu Rau is proud of his Sardinian stubbornness and credits that for some of the grid's success, but he's the first to say that it wouldn't be anything more than a private plaything without the residents.

That's why each year on sim Jubilee there is more than just a birthday party, there's also a fabulous display in the Expo Center, featuring work by people who have been here from the early days, and those who have called the grid home only for a couple of years. 

Craft continues to attract new blood, but also holds on to its long term residents, and the secret sauce is the way people are free to come and go, to work hard and to play around in a truly friendly and drama free environment.

The Expo has displays by the following list of builders, educators, and artists:

Tonino Lane and Lorenza Colicigno's wonderful regions NoiLab and NoiLab 2 are represented here, as is CapCat Ragu's IPVerso too, with some nice mesh going on.

All this plus the unAcademy sim by Luciana Mattei, and Rosanna Galvani's Museo del Metaverso, where we will be going on Safari this week.

Many of these builds have deep roots in the real world and offer us a chance to learn, to do some virtual travel to beautiful and interesting parts of Italy like the ancient buildings in Puglia, places we are unlikely ever to see IRL.

The Expo stays open until February, so if you can't make the big birthday part this Tuesday, you still have plenty of time to better know Craft - you won't regret it!
