Safari on Track

The first season of Safari ended yesterday with two opportunities for playing - one classic and one brand new. Our first stop was on CCI grid with a return to an iconic build, Bikerworld, reputed to be the longest and biggest racing track in Opensim, by SoA BAD, the grid owner.
SIWAS and SoA BAD, the owners of CCI Grid.
His name SoA comes from the TV series Sons of Anarchy, so it will be no surprise to learn this track is particularly made for motorcycles. SoA and his beautiful partner Siwas are both expert riders and can do the whole track in about an hour, going full blast from sea level, where you'll find the clubhouse and the group joiner and the various motorcycles that you can 'buy' and ride, to the highest point where there is a sort of gasoline dump with tankers and reservoirs. This aspect of motoring - filling your tank from time to time - is an essential part of the game, and you will need to get supplies a couple of times as you gradually rise up through the levels. The last time we visited we were all impressed by the way the region handled the lag made by the group, but that was over two years ago, so this was an opportunity for us to give it another whirl and remind ourselves of how much fun can be had here.
SoA BAD: Hello friends, welcome! Get yourselves a bike, but only copy or buy the bikes and then rez them yourself. Don't use the originals. Most bikes are also suitable for a passenger.  Additionally, you can find biker outfits in the display case on the left; also copy or buy them.
Nine Zero: good selection here
eva Nowicka: Tron rulez! :)
SoA BAD: not the original please... buy or copy and then rezz the Bike, then it's your bike
Lavia LLavine: I am the epitome of a woman driver, I run over things and people.
Forest Azure is glad with her jeans
Lavia LLavine: Absolutely
Thirza Ember: I already crashed into 3 people and the clubhouse
James Atlloud: Where can we rez the bike?
Nine Zero: join group rez here? that's what i did
SoA BAD [de→en]: buy or copy and then rez. Here are a few more instructions for biking.
Driving: Arrow up   Gear:   up = shift and right arrow      down = shift and left arrow.  If you have a motorcycle that needs to be refueled, then you will find gas stations everywhere on the Track, approach the gas pump, stay seated on the bike and click on the gas pump then the refueling process is started.  If you stop because you run out of gas, simply rezz the bike again. Have fun.
Lavia LLavine: HI ROFFELLOS!!  Long time no see
Nine Zero: hey roff
Angelic Kisses: Hello
Roffellos Kisses: heyy  you made it, ready? this is going to be chaos woohoooo
Roff and Angelic ride off into the distance
Nine Zero: I think I will be circus driving
Forest.Azure: 1,  2,  3 ... !
SoA BAD [de→en]: You go ahead Siwas
Siwas led the pack and also played hostess to latecomers, so that everyone had the opportunity to play if they so wished. The track makes great loops and sweeps leading higher and higher as various environments are piled on top of one another, with all kinds of landmarks along the way, like MacDonald's....
...as well as wildlife, occasionally on the road, that keeps you focused on the drive!
SoA BAD [de→en]: Don't forget to fill up, lol... When the tank is empty, take it and refill it
I was lucky enough to get a ride with SoA, so that gave me plenty of opportunities to take photos as we climbed through the asphalt jungle. The bikes look like ants on this amazingly long and complex roadway. Pretty soon it was time to get gas.
Thirza Ember: ooo pandas
SoA BAD [de→en]: Lavia, Stay put and click on the gas pump
Thirza Ember: i also need a coffee and some cigarettes
From one landscape to another, we braved rugged mountains and dinosaurs, and winter conditions
Thirza Ember: wow I love the different environments
SoA BAD [de→en]: The worst is behind us, lol
SoA BAD [de→en]: There are still snow mobiles here, if someone wants. It's quicker to get stressed Snowmobiles and bikes without refueling are poison
Angelic Kisses: THAT was an amazing ride!
Yara Eilde: The second one from the front rides like a small and cuddly bicycle
It's so big here that taking a picture of the whole structure isn't really possible. each environment has a different texture on the outside box, do show how they are great contrasts - just when you get used to the light and the conditions in one zone, you suddenly are thrown into a very jarringly different kind of landscape. At last, it was time to go downhill a bit.
Thirza.Ember: fredy is walking the track, he is going for a smaller carbon footprint
SoA BAD: not bad, I think we should break off and go to the clubhouse
Back at the clubhouse we compared notes
Petlove Petshop: that was amazing!
Forest Azure: /me is panting heavily
Nine Zero: I hit a cow and ran out of gas
Thirza Ember: I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been to build this place all those pieces of track, all so smooth,  the changes in environment and the little details are such fun
Forest Azure: did you have time to watch little details?
SoA BAD [de→en]: we built the track for 4 months - there are a total of 10 worlds here. The whole track takes about 1 hour
Nine Zero: very scenic and fun
Petlove Petshop: totally agree
SIWAS S: I have no part in building the track but I love it.
Petlove Petshop: the ride is so much longer and more interesting with the different scenes.... awesome!
Nine Zero: next time i will know to stop for gas lol
Forest Azure: i went to fast to stop for gas:)
Thirza Ember: the only bad part is that the gas station does not have any candy
James Atlloud: What's your favorite road stop candy?
Nine Zero: beer
Thirza Ember: I was looking for M&Ms
Petlove Petshop: omg M&M's have cherry flavor now, and lemon meringue!  they're great! ... but back to the bikes,  so realistic  -  kudos!
Nine Zero: good sound on them, too
James Atlloud: - I'm always glad to find a Watchmacallit
Forest Azure: a ..?
James Atlloud: oh yes Forest, it's a thing here.
Thirza Ember:  you were all awesome - i really enjoyed having a chauffeur, thanks again SoA. And I have a great picture of James and Petlove doing acrobatic biking
James Atlloud: good performance too - but I still need the bumpers on the side!!
Petlove Petshop: good thing james is good at it!
James Atlloud: It's all that Sonic racing I've played!
Petlove Petshop: i was able to drive but it took all of my attention!  the arrow keys aren't as smooth as i wanted them to be on this keyboard, which is beat up
Forest Azure: a bike with a side thing would be safer for me!
Lavia is far too modest, her driving was impeccable
Lavia Lavine: That was quite fun, I only wrecked like 58 thousand times.  But all in all I've improved.
Nine Zero: I definitely drove like bumper cars, but that's because i was trying to go fast
Thirza Ember: what if we did the whole thing in a bus??
Forest Azure: a bus .. dreams
SoA BAD [de→en]: I hope everyone had some fun
Thirza Ember: yess wonderful, thank you both!! The clubs and dance places along the way are neat also.
An evening with motorcycles, instead of the usual dances, is a great break in the routine, and it isn't difficult to learn to ride - indeed, it can become kind of addictive. The sim is always open for anyone to visit, and if you tire of riding there are plenty of places to look at and even dance a little, if you wish.
The secret of this place is the dramatic mix of environments, and the smooth and incredibly intricate road system.
Nine Zero: yes, thank you thank you
Petlove Petshop: definitely did!
Roffellos Kisses: that was brilliant, more fuel than i  intended
Forest Azure: i thought you and kisses were having a romantic stop rofellos, but i think it was a crash :)
Angelic Kisses: that was an amazing run...thank you!
Yara Eilde: Yes, it's really fun. We've been here three times already.
Alex Salamander: A super long route
James Atlloud: Thank SoA people - this is a truly amazing build!
Forest Azure: thank you so much, that was really great!
SoA BAD [de→en]: Everything's fine, feel free to come over
