Neverworld Grid was our second stop this week, we were there to experience the grid's unusual and exciting weekly event, the Never Riders Club, on Cloudburst Roads. 'Club' in the widest sense of the word - locals and hg visitors are all very welcome, the only qualifications are an ability to ride a bike, and the desire to have fun.
Meanwhile, the Safaristas had their own challenges...
Thirza Ember: ok so, welcome to Neverworld, this is the clubhouse building...
Ayla Alvarez: oh....this is the starting point of the Never Riders Weds ride?
Thirza Ember: ...Give it a minute, a loooot of mesh here. Please, when you can see the sim, look on your radar for Govega, she is at the CLOUDBURST ROADS PUBLIC REZ ZONE. It's not that far.
James Atlloud: Do we get a bike from here first?
Thirza Ember: she has the bikes where she is
Govega Sachertorte: we are waiting for everyone to rez in, at worst you can turn your draw distance down but you may lose half the fun, so we can wait
Thirza Ember: I think we're all here now
Govega Sachertorte: There are so SPARE BIKES here blue ones if you need. we are going to drive slow, the plan is a nice drive to the club house, after snooping around, we will drive to the Golden Gate Bridge there we will salute the sunset and then you guys are welcome to drive wherever
Forest Azure: oh, that is some Bike, rofellos and angelic!
Roffellos Kisses: Bad's bike... they are amazing - from our safari to his track
The startng poin it, it seems, the lowest point on the sim. Nice that anyone can rez here, so if you have a favorite vehicle, you can use it here, if it's Bullit. Out of the gorge, the track led up into the mountain air...
... the roads are wide, illuminated, with lots of swerves and cusps, to keep the most manic motorbike fan thoroughly engaged with keeping the rubber on the road. The idea was to get back up to the clubhouse, where bikes could be left in the parking lot until needed again. Nice to be able to rez something and find it where you left it when you're done in the pub. Although some of us weren't all that tidy...
Dings Digital: some rebel parking :)
amanda greenthumb: sorry for everyone i ran into we all got goin and my fps plumited
James Atlloud: thanks for the lightcycle - it was pretty responsive!
Star Ravenhurst: I got stuck inside of a mountain. There was another bike in the mountain too. So now there are two bikes inside the mountain. :)
Ankh Senaton: 3 with mine Star.Ravenhurst ;)
Govega Sachertorte: I wish I had a robot to clean them all
Govega Sachertorte: lets wait for everyone to come in look around catch their breath and dance a few minutes and then off we go, watch out for falling rocks and slipperly oil spills
Thirza Ember: what inspired you to make a bike track, are some of you bikers in RL?
Govega Sachertorte: I had a friend here who rode a lot, so he showed me some ride spots in SL, and I said OMG we can do so much better, so I brought Nexus... Nexus said "Oh I have to do research, it will take months"... I woke up the next day and the whole road system was laid out...
Ankh Senaton: wow
Govega Sachertorte: ...then, as a team we did all the details, there are falling rocks and oils spills scripted by Ares...
Star Ravenhurst: I have encountered those when I was here before.
Govega Sachertorte: ...mr smokes did ALOT of the detail work... we have villages if you want to live here
Govega Sachertorte: everyone said it reminded them of Sons of Anarchy so hence Never Riders and this club house was created, we now do tours every wednesday often we start here
Thirza Ember: for a community activity, that's a nice alternative to a dance party, so if it's on wednesdays, is this your usual time? from 1pm SLT?
Govega Sachertorte: 2 pm, I have it after HG Safari, so as not to interfere
Nara Nook: amazing we could all ride bikes here
Star Ravenhurst: It is after? I thought it was same time. That is awesome!
Time to hit the asphalt again... next stop, the Golden Gate!
Govega Sachertorte: the roads are very complex, snakey... let's get back on the bikes
Dings Digital: yes
Joshua 7: rofl
This giant bridge links the vast continents of Neverworld, making it possible to ride clear across the grid. Star seemed like she was having some difficulties taming her suicidal bike at one point though...
... while others forgathered along the simline, looking as if they were about to begin a drag race maybe!
Ayla Alvarez: is there a better place to stop?
Gemmalynn Sabine: we were going to turn around here but zi have no idea where anyone is lol
mr smokes: i was waiting for gov to catch up lol
Ankh Senaton: I never be able to cross the bridge
The group sort of fell apart after a while, which is really mostly how visiting opensim works, people going off independently for a quiet visit alone. This place is ideal for that, there are miles and miles you can explore. Our instinct to try to stick together struggled to cope with a little bit of sim crossing fun and general unrezzingness. But there are worse places to be frozen!
Thirza Ember: this place has a great view
Neo Cortex: It would help if people would rez their bodies to start with...
Thirza Ember: well bodies aren't as important as personalities and we all have plenty of that
Nara Nook: yeah
Thirza Ember: thanks for a great tour, everyone in neverworld, what a really fun event you have!
Govega Sachertorte: grab (click) a glass of champagne
James Atlloud: Yes, this is an impressive place! so fun
Nara Nook: This was great fun. Thanks so much!
Govega Sachertorte: thanks everyone for coming also, it was great to show everyone
James Atlloud: Thank you Govega - and all the grid peeps!
Thom InVR: enjoyable gathering :)

The grid worked great right up until the group got scattered. It seemed like maybe the server was pushing too many things in too many places. I'm really glad I was able to find my way back to the champagne. Thank you Govega and team for a very fun visit.
