It's September, so it's time for a new season of the Safari! We also have a new base for meeting up, on a dedicated grid, the address is at the end of the post. As usual, the event began at 12.00 SLT and as always, Safari trips are on Wednesdays. This post describes our first destination, you can read about our second destination in the post called Tierra de Marpil.
Appropriately, our very first destination for the Fall season was God Fall, by Tutz Zabelin, on Pangea grid, and Tutz was on hand to tell us all about it.
Tutz Zabelin: For those I haven't met before, a short history about me and Pangea. In reality I am a girl from Sweden. And i have a background from SL where i started 2007. Pangea started 4 years ago. Marlon Wayne is the man who came up with the idea.
At Pangea, we are a blending of different skills and, like me, just a builder. There is much much more to say about Pangea, there is some information about this on the Welcome sim. You will also find TP board to Pangea's various sims.
Thirza Ember: nice EEP
Tutz Zabelin: I was supposed to invent and write a story about God Fall but my imagination has been stuck in sim Construction.
Luna Lunaria: I get that way also
Tutz Zabelin: But briefly about the history of the God Fall is: It is at the beginning of the creation of the Earth. Good beings from space, gods and goddesses, come in a spaceship. They come to help create the Earth and protect it from evil forces that threaten to take over. On the way to Earth, the good gods spaceship is attacked by evil aliens The goddesses on the ship then stand around the ship and protect it. They succeed in using their powers to drive out the evil ones.
Stone thrones = less lag |
Thirza Ember: yes, it always needs some goddesses to clean up all the bad stuff
Luna Lunaria: *-* ~ *-* HeHeHehe *-* ~ *-*
Tutz Zabelin: Now, I'd like you to follow me on a trip into space. I'll tell you a bit more on each level.
lifted pixel: wow huge
Tutz Zabelin: We have to skip some levels because there is not enough time to see everything, We'll start on level 5. TP portal you can find here beside.
Luna Lunaria: Lifted, you provide a very convenient landing point :-)
lifted pixel: i'm glad to be of service :D
Tutz Zabelin: shouts: To get a good view, zoom around.
Koshari Mahana: Pretty!
Luna Lunaria: I like the space station
Grid owner Marlon Wayne joined us on the trip |
Roffellos Kisses: Wow wasn't expecting this
Tutz Zabelin: Here is the spaceship that will protect the earth, A big gold colored rocket is heading towards the ship but the goddesses are ready to protect it with their divine powers. Of course the good guys win
Forest Azure: good girls, you mean
Tutz Zabelin: Now on to level 4... The Earth is starting to grow more and more life has been added.
Each part of this creation story includes loads of little details that each deserve attention, and in our 60 minute sprint around the build, we certainly didn't catch them all! Like so many builds based on a game, God Fall takes the concept and plays with it in ways that go far beyond the original point of inspiration.
Yara and friends in the primordial swamp |
Tutz Zabelin: Continue to level 3
Thirza Ember: plenty of dragon style life here
Tutz Zabelin: The earth has taken shape. Water, rain and thunder. There are trees and greenery. There are the beginnings of humans and more developed animals.
Thirza Ember: wow I love the swamp bugs!
Forest Azure: /me looks up.. hello!
Luna Lunaria: You would like bugs Thirza :-D
Thirza Ember: it's a feature, not a bug
Tutz Zabelin: now we can tp to level 2, or, jump in the water
Angelic Kisses: this is magical.
Forest Azure: wow, landing is harder than you would expect in the water
Angelic Kisses: LOL i was actually wondering why you were all jumping off the cliff
Tosha Tyran: the earth is flat
Tutz Zabelin: shouts: Below the surface of the water. Here it has been longer. Seaweed, underwater plants, corals and fish thrive. When I built this sim, I was pretty excited to build underwater
Tosha Tyran: this is beautiful... trees next to underwater plants...
Lavia LLavine: I was just admiring that
Star.Ravenhurst: I like how all the plants move. Gives it a lot of life.
Lavia LLavine: It really does give the feeling of being under water. I wonder if we'll find Nemo in here somewhere.
Tosha Tyran: I find the effect of trees side by side with underwater plants pretty astonishing
James atLLOUD: OH, we are actually rather tiny here aren't we?
Star Ravenhurst: We may not be able to get you out.
Tosha Tyran: lol, james, the only thing with color on you are your crox, and then some!
Forest Azure: and his cap
James atLLOUD: (^_^) - I'm so proud of my crocs! fancy shoes - from my mind to Blender to Opensim (with help from Tosha!)
James Atlloud in his new shoes, testing the sit-ability of the underwater life forms |
Tutz Zabelin: Now down where we started. This is where our Gods and Goddesses lived during the time they helped create the Earth.
Luna Lunaria: The music is perfect
Tutz Zabelin: ツ follow me now
Thirza Ember: ok, everyone back in Safari Mode, and ready to walk, I see!
Angelic Kisses: I should have worn sneakers
Tina Bey: yesss
Forest Azure: yay! my first thirza head landing this season
Star Ravenhurst: Mine too
Thirza Ember: ouch
Tutz Zabelin: it take litle time to go around here, you have to zoom around a litle
Luna Lunaria: I like the architecture
Thirza Ember: it feels like an epic story is happening here!
Tosha Tyran: yeah, reborn, sort of
Thirza Ember: the HIE exhibit was a small piece of all this
James atLLOUD I had not realized there was a Godfall game.
lifted pixel: was that scene at HIE the war? between the goddesses and the bad aliens?
Tutz Zabelin: yes, there a game to and i have get mush inspiration from it
Marlon Wayne: many of the meshes here are rebuilt from the game God fall
Lavia LLavine: Some of it has quite a "Persian" flavor.
Tutz Zabelin: i maybe run too fast, but i want you to see so much as possible... this is what the god left behind when they left
Tosha Tyran: this is really something!
Tina Bey: increible!!
Tutz Zabelin: now we at the end
Koshari Mahana: great build Tutz! Thank you for having us
Tutz Zabelin: i hope you coming back look more
