Racing in Pangea

Looking for somewhere new to put the pedal to the metal? Do you have the heart of a Marshal?
Whether you're an expert racer, or just a crazy driver, Pangea grid would love to have you come over and help test their new race track on a dedicated sim set up for an event set to be held in October, the Pangea Go-Kart Cup.
This competition will feature as part of the Pangea 4th birthday festival, they are planning a whole series of different activities. You will be seeing the details pop up in the socials, also don't overlook their website (worth bookmarking) called https://pangea-grid.com/ ...and right now, if you like your sport sitting down, you could be a huge help!
What's the idea? Let's ask  Karsten Runningbear, the grid's script guru, what he and the Pangea Grid team, led by Grid Owner Marlon Wayne, have in mind.
Karsten Runningbear: you are welcome to try the track and give your feedback, so we can make the racing experience the best it can possibly be before the big day. In particular, there is an information evening tomorrow, Friday, 9 August between 11am and 1pm SLT (that's from 8-10pm, Berlin time). The focus of this evening is the planning and organization of our upcoming birthday go kart race.
Crashed more than usual? Shake it off in the auto-themed dance hall
When you arrive on the sim, you'll notice they have taken the minimalist, lag-beating approach to architecture and landscape, without stinting on the essentials, like a dance place where you can celebrate your victory.
To get a car, click on this sign. After a few seconds, you car will rez right by the green arrow, so jump in quick, otherwise it will disappear. Once you're safely seated in the kart, you can take your time to read the notecards. These explain how to drive the Kart, how to change gear, and all that.
The region, called Go-KartBahn, has two tracks, so you have options depending on how much time and skill and competitive edge you're bringing to the game. That is a lot of hairpin bends.
The grid is looking for volunteers who want to participate in a number of ways.
Karsten Runningbear: we also need race directors for the race. Their task will be checking for the drivers respecting the rules i.e. if someone steps away from their computer and he and the kart are on the track as an obstacle, we must remove them. Or people driving in the wrong direction. Just one person can't check the whole track
Thirza Ember: that sounds like me.... I usually end up driving in the wrong direction, on two wheels, the nose of my car dragging along the wall.
Adriana Darkheart
A key member of the testing team, and the polar opposite of myself in terms of driving skills, is Adriana Darkheart. She's Pangea's answer to Danica Patrick - cool headed, elegant, and extremely fast. Adriana has been a huge help to Karsten.  Here she is zipping around in the pit lane, to show off how responsive and easy to handle the go karts are.
As you might imagine, she's very modest about her accomplishments - that's so Opensim. Love it.
Adriana Darkheart: I help more with advertising for the days...
Karsten Runningbear: Adriana is our best driver in the grid, she finds every mistake at the track
Karsten risks life and limb on the wall, while Adriana models the go kart
The Pangea Go-Kart Cup isn't for a few months, but  as you see, they sure would welcome your help at making this track the best it can be in terms of Hypergrgird harmony, user friendliness and script-o-magic, so please participate if you can.
