Vicky Does It Again

Victoria Logan is a delight, and she's pulled off another successful art collaborative on her OSGrid Var region 'Arts-&-Friends'.

The region features a mall showcasing some of Victoria's fractal art
Last year, the connecting thread between builds was the subject of Women, with celebrations of everything from Disney's princesses, to Amy Earhart.
It's all about OSGrid this time!
Victoria's installation sets the theme
Victoria Logan is a familiar figure on the virtual art scene.  The Argentinian artist has been a resident on OSGrid since 2012 and has been building ever since.  You may remember her build dedicated to her home country, on sim Vicky's Dreams, back in 2015. She invited the Safari over for a visit on Christmas Eve, and our experience was further enriched with a concert by Joaquin Gustav

Then there was that time when she showed us her 'School for Boyfriends' a hilarious and imaginative institution where the guys could learn about what not to do to keep their significant other happy. We visited that build in 2016 and it bears mentioning because back in those days, as you'll recall, the Safari lasted 3 hours and we went to at least 3 destinations each time.

Our visit to Vicky was in the last hour (11pm to midnight, here in Europe) but despite the lateness, it was one of the most energy- and fun-packed hours of that year! Plenty of details, a quick rez, a fantastic hostess - the the best of all worlds.

More recently, Victoria has moved to this VAR region which has given her more space to work with and her choice has been to make it a space for the artistic community. The lagoon setting brings an air of exotic warmth to the art gallery concept, and why not? We're not limited by real world restrictions.
The first 'Arts and Friends'  (sometimes written as 'Art and Friends' - works well both ways) collaborative show was in 2023 and this year, in a slice of the sim contiguous to last year's build, there is a new set of installations to enjoy.

The theme this time is 'OSGrid' which is very appropriate as the 17th birthday of the grid approaches.

These few photos give just a small glimpse at what's here, you really need to visit the build in person to get the full effect of movement and color, proportion and sound. There are twelve artists by my count on display inworld, and of those, only a handful are photographed here, see if you can name all the participants in the comments.

It's always so interesting to see how different creators approach a theme, and these pieces certainly provide plenty of food for thought about the creative process, about the social experience of virtual worlds, and the platform that we often take for granted. It's also a great way to become acquainted with artists that are less well known, like Nemo Night who has a build all about a graphic novel that looks thrilling  - Zona oscura del alma.

There's nothing apocalyptic about Victoria's approach to the opensim community, and her friends have stepped up once again to make this a diverse, intriguing, heartwarming and entertaining show. Curated with care and flair, Vicky truly has done it again, proving that OSGrid continues to be epico!
