MdM - Rededicated!

The ribbon was cut today at the rededication ceremony of an old friend, the Museo del Metaverso on Craft Grid, now sporting a brand new look!
In a dark sky, just above the black waters of the sim, the new structure floats like a glass cage, full of movement and color, history and innovation.
Pinkrachel AI, Stex Auer, Velazquez Bonetto, and Rosanna Galvani
took the stage
We were treated to four speeches by four key members of the Museo del Metaverso, including Rosanna Galvani, who founded it all those years ago in Second Life, and who has valiantly kept alive the concept here in Craft, with dedication, enthusiasm and generosity.
Velazquez Bonetto, was also on stage of course! His is another name associated with the golden days of early  Second Life art when, together with Josina Burgess, Carp Diabolus was a magnet for so many virtual creatives. Still vibrant, creative and busy, here in opensim,
Vela is the architect of this iteration of the MdM building, and the CARP Diabolus brand is in full display here, as a vital ingredient of the project. The structure has returned, in a way, to its roots, with cubes as the fundamental building block, and a modular feel that invited incrementation, expansion, exploration. On a day like today, a thought goes out to that dear friend of the Museum, who contributed so much, Nicola Reinerman.
Almost fifty Craft grid avatars gathered for this event, the vast majority artists who have at one time or another exhibited at the Museum. Many of the avatars had names better known in SL than in Opensim, and this reflects the titanic mission of the Museo del Metaverso - to collect art and create an archive and showcase of digital works, something really impossible to do in SL where land and complexity are at such a premium.
By bringing their art to Opensim, these artists are given spaces and impact levels free of charge that they could not dream of, over in the Other Place.
It's a tribute to the trust put in Rosanna, as well as the decades-long friendships she has formed. This symbiosis is an important factor in the enduring quality of the Museum, and long may it continue. As important as this crossover between platforms is, don't worry you Opensim fans, there's also plenty of home grown opensim art here too - like these beauties by Tina Bey.
Clearly the new look Museo del Metaverso is enormous, so we couldn't possibly take the entire tour this evening - however several bits stood, out, as illustrators of the variety and ingenuity of the Museo... for example this impressive 2D art gallery...
purpose built for the fantastic sketches by Corsaronero Nightfire.

There you have it - just a couple of examples of the myriad offerings in the museum. A lovely evening, and if you missed it, don't worry - you'll have plenty of time to visit, explore, and fall in love. The Museo del Metaverso isn't going anywhere.
