Yes,  we are savages, which is a good thing because the second destination of this week's HG Safari tour - the Fall season premiere for 2025 - was on a sim that savages thrive on. Well, to be fair, anyone who loves post apocalyptic landscapes, zombies, aliens, elephants, or witty posters, or an adventure playground, or lovely grungy freebies including some great PBR materials would like this new sim Desolate Expanse by Cherry Manga ... yeah I guess that is pretty much everyone. Just about two months old, it's a concept sim constructed with the help of visits by Cherry to some of the best loved Freebie purveyors in Opensim. And while it's desolate, it's definitely not despairing. You'll need to be wide awake to tour this sim without missing all the lovely details, and gifties too.

It all started with a small disappointment for many of us.

Cherry Manga: the wheel of fate where I stand is the artefact that let us know what disaster can arrive next... the region has different spaces, the ugly ones, with the villain people wanting to make advantage of the situation, and some nice people trying to keep their humanity

Warning ladies, the aliens on this sim make free with their probes.

Cherry Manga: what I would love to do here is to make different games, with different situations, one game for zombies, one for aliens etc...but the work is huge, and I am a poor story teller, and poor scripter... so for now I just had fun with a region made of freebies I found here and there

Cherry Manga: yes Tosha, for now I script with chat gpt, but it does not do everything, and makes heavy scripts I am not able to light myself

Cherry Manga: ah, because I can't help with freebies, to me, it's a part of opensim, helping with what we can, and in my case, it's freebies

Cherry Manga: everyone give me his favourite AI Taarna, I heard many options, but at least, if you are not good like I am in scripting or storytelling, no matter what tool, you'll do shit... I need human in this case.

Thirza Ember: Cherry what is your favorite part of building? EEP? Making the decorations? the NPC or animesh?
Cherry Manga: NPC and animesh is hell because much work lol....what I prefer is details, placing a single bottle of beer no one will notice, a smoke effect, a sound...

Cherry Manga: well, Thirza, my idea is to make several games, like you turn the wheel of fate, it goes to zombies, you have the zombies game (a shoot them up), and then you turn again, you have for instance, pandemia, you have a new game, like with clues to find etc with objects to find and colelct, or questions to answer, whatever... but maybe in ten years :)

James Atlloud: I've not done many things where my avatar takes damage. It would be interesting.
Star Ravenhurst: It is time consuming to create all of that. But will be worth it.
Cherry Manga: yes and I split my time with art, inworld art, rl art, so....need more hours in a day... there ae many skills in os, i think also about Nara's npcs to tell stories. Forest's quiz too can be an useful tool, well, I take everything people would offer :P
