Star's Hereafter

Star Ravenhurst waited for us on a dusty, grungy street corner by a sign that said 'Welcome to Hell'.
No, not TP or IM hell for once, this was the 'other' place, our second destination of the day with, as it turned out, a surprising coincidence in the architecture, but more of that later, This region Heaven & Hell is on Star's own grid, TenthDimensionGrid.
Francisco Koolhoven: Well I made it to this grid :) wasn't able to go to alternate metaverse
Star Ravenhurst: Sorry to hear that Francisco
Francisco Koolhoven: it happens sometimes,  I'll try to go there later
James Atlloud: It was great Fran... Oh! Shared environment makes a difference, thanks... rats!
Star Ravenhurst: A lot has changed since you were last week Tina
Kelso Uxlay: A rats parade
Thirza Ember: hmmm definitely a dry heat here
Star Ravenhurst: Yep and dry heat is terrible for the skin!
Thirza Ember: ok we're all here
Star Ravenhurst: We can walk down the block and see if we can catch the bus... This way...
James Atlloud: a bus!!
For hell, it was quite heavenly how little lag we had this week. Everyone seemed to rez very quickly, none of the temporary nakedness you often get during the first ten minutes of a Safari, or weird bits floating around the group that turn out to be hair, or shoes. We followed Star down a tawny colored street where you could almost smell the hot ash, and a bus came by. It stopped briefly...
Star Ravenhurst: JUMP ON
Dings Digital: is she gone?
James Atlloud: oops?
Thirza Ember: we missed the bus...
Dings Digital: lost in hell...  there's the bus
Malburns Craftster: never trust buses since other week
James Atlloud: bus company is whorehound.  I know it was bad, but gee.
Dabici Straulino: star is gone with the bus, the driver is not patient
Whirli Placebo: what's going on here....i see impaled dead people
Star Ravenhurst:  No he is not... Jump on NOW
Trying to ride a bus puts Safari people in philosophical and hilarious moods
Whirli Placebo: how did i get here ... where are we going?
Kelso Uxlay: I have seen this place before
Tina Bey: hahahahah
Dabici Straulino: I guess it is Hell of a driver
Kelso Uxlay: A hell of a ride
Thirza Ember: the scenery is stupendous
Star Ravenhurst: This is a good way to get an overview of Hell. This area around the church is about war and the effects politics and religion have had on people
Whirli Placebo: does the bus seem familiar?
Thirza Ember: honestly i feel far safer this week... Star, what made you decide this was a theme you wanted to explore?
Star Ravenhurst: I was originally inspired to build it for a drive in movie theatre. Bill Blight had done this. Only his version was far different, over time, it became something deeper and more meaningful. It was an opportunity to explore the worst things that humans go through
Thirza Ember: James - don't be a war-monger! that Tank is beneath you
James Atlloud: I know, I felt bad the minute I did it
Star Ravenhurst: In MHO, those who wage are on others, deserve hell
James Atlloud: war is never entered by those who start it
LadyKa 007 stands by the poster explaining the rewards of war
Star Ravenhurst: Anyway, it just became more than just watching movies. Though I do want to start that up soon
Luna Lunaria: I loved movie nights at Bill's place
Star Ravenhurst: Me too Luna. Those were special times
Whirli Placebo: Star, when you finished the project , how did you feel, bringing all these things into visual objects?
Star Ravenhurst: What I feel about it: War is terrible. No matter who we are or where we are from. People, the common people don't want it but we are forced to endure it by those in power... I know this is a hard subject
Innocent bystanders are the main victims of war.
Thirza Ember: sadly, it's a theme in art that never goes out of fashion... always relevant
Dabici Straulino: yep
James Atlloud: It's important Star
Star Ravenhurst: Which is why I am also building the contrast
James Atlloud: the music is so peaceful - intentional irony?
Star Ravenhurst: Yes James.  Exactly.
Dabici Strulino - armed and dangerous!
Star Ravenhurst: Now my Heaven isn't the typical version
Thirza Ember: i'm curious, how long did it take you to find all these armaments in opensim? was it easy?
CyberGlo CyberStar: joe builder has tons of tanks and army weapons
Star Ravenhurst: I found these at the Urban Museum by Jimmy.  They have that old worn look I was looking for. The soldier was also in the box. I found some stuff at Joe's too.
Luna Lunaria: Jimmy is a collector like Joe is
James Atlloud: OH the vignette south of here of the people fleeing is touching.
Star Ravenhurst: I placed them this morning. I had that idea to do that, but time got away from me You really need to walk around the region to catch the little details and more will be added. Not big stuff, but finishing things
Thirza Ember: more responsibility than when you're on a grid with an owner, like back in the day with Bill Blight for example
Star Ravenhurst: It has given me a great deal of freedom to create. For one, I don't have to worry about what anyone else thinks. I mean I do care, but no one is stopping me... Shall we rise to Heaven?
Luna Lunaria: yes :-)
Kelso Uxlay: Stairway to heaven
Thirza Ember: ready, oh lord
Luna Lunaria: hehe... I need wings :-)
Star Ravenhurst: Each image represents the Eye Of The Universe  Or The Eye Of God
Kelso Uxlay: or a nebula
Taarna Welles: very spiritual
James Atlloud: I hear many people say biblically accurate angels have lots of eyes.
Star Ravenhurst: Well this isn't just a Christian Heaven as you shall see
Luna Lunaria: Love the images. Each of those was created by a dying star
Dabici Straulino: great inclusive concept
The first version of Heaven we visited was the Egyptian one.
Star Ravenhurst: I have been working on this pyramid for awhile, It is finally finished.  I used some of your statues Luna.
Luna Lunaria: Oh nice, glad you could use them :-)
Star Ravenhurst: There are four levels. The two upper levels only reached by a simple TP
Taarna Welles: anunnaki
Star Ravenhurst: A lot of the statues I found for free at Lani. The pyramid is placed in the typical direction for them, and the sarcophagus is in the correct position
James Atlloud: What is that? compass directions?
Luna Lunaria: They were usually star aligned
Star Ravenhurst: pyramids face North and south,  and the pharaoh East and West
Tina Bey: great textures!!!
Star Ravenhurst
CyberGlo CyberStar: we all know the pyramids were built by aliens, b/c there is no way that a few million stone cutters could cut stones perfectly and roll them up ramps on logs to build something as big as a pyramid !
Next up was the Pagan Grove which of course has a much more organic, paradisaic feel to it. The choice of music also blended perfectly with this much more breezy, outdoorsy afterlife. Although it looks like Luna was a little bit swept up in that cherry tree...
Dabici Straulino: groovy
CyberGlo CyberStar: I love olives!
James Atlloud: Enya, perfect.
Dabici Straulino: Stonehenge is the magic link between today's destinations
Luna Lunaria: I think I left depressions in Star's head :-(
Star Ravenhurst: I never thought I would do Stonehenge because it is over done. But it needed to be here. Eventually the main religions on Earth will be here, this is still a work in progress
Luna Lunaria: I like the idea of standing stones and rune stones, evoking the old magic
Star Ravenhurst: Believe it or not I have managed to make one parcel up here Watch the sky when we enter...  I wanted the sky to change and thankfully this is on the edge of the region below
Dabici Straulino: oh indeed great EEP
How fitting that after all his tribulations, Francisco finally made it to heaven....
Star Ravenhurst: The Shinto-Buddhist area has been started I have started, and I have included Rapa Nui, They worshiped a god named Maki-Maki... the Christian area but it needs lots of thought...
James Atlloud: It would be hard to resist cliche with the Christian area
Thirza Ember: this has been a real treat to see Star I know you have so much else here - plus loads of work in progress
Star Ravenhurst: Yes. Feel free to explore. I think once it is complete, there will be something for everyone here. No matter what you believe
Unadecal Masala: ah, but knowing Star and her perfectionist streak, this will always be a work in progress, forever evolving
Star Ravenhurst: What is strange is the water fall over there, it's mostly off sim and yet you can sit on one of two sits
James Atlloud: it works
Tina Bey: Very  beautiful
Francisco Koolhoven: Thanks Star, great build
Dabici Straulino: Thanks Star, a big journey for soul
Star Ravenhurst: It has been my pleasure to share this with you all.
Taarna Welles: An hour is not enough to see all detail.
James Atlloud: Is this grid always on?
Unadecal Masala: Yes James, always on. All the grids I host are on 24/7
James Atlloud: That's great - will come back for sure.
Alex Salamander: Thanks Star, a beautiful work
Yara Eild: Thanks for all the effort. See you next time. Bye bye
Thirza Ember: just three more Safari weeks to the end of the season, I hope to see you guys next week!
Star Ravenhurst: All are welcome any time
CyberGlo CyberStar: Thank you for a wonderful journey.
