Happy Birthday Mobius!

Happy 10th birthday Mobius grid! A big party occasion, and why not? Well this is opensim, so anything can happen...
The grid was experiencing some technical difficulties so we all crashed a few times, nothing drastic, after all you just need 2 minutes' patience and three clicks of a mouse to get back where you were, hardly a hardship, and it was certainly worth it for the chance to celebrate the event and to see the fab fireworks.
The constant crashes were a good opportunity to return to the Mobius freebie shop, and to run into more Mobians than is usual for a safari gal just wandering the metaverse - so, why not make the most of the opportunity?! I asked a range of people how they feel about the grid, from newcomers, to those who have been away for a long time, to others who have been around here a great deal.
Esmerald Fox
Esmerald Fox: made a lot of good friends and learned some mesh modeling and crafting techniques here
Beth Indigo
Beatrice Indigo (beth.lade): eh im not the best to ask, I came back after a year long hiatus at royale's request to join the anni, but i can say they're reliable and helpful
Wishdream
Wishdream (wish.dreamscape): Most of what I can say is that Mobius has been a lovely home, with a team that's understanding and strong willed to do the work. While it has it's hitches, it serves a wonderful home for many travelers alike.
Versa
ðŸ”§ V e r s a 🔧 (luminalore): I haven't been here long, but Mobius Grid in my opinion is arguably one of the best grids to develop content for on OpenSim. As someone who loves making games in SL, I'm genuinely surprised each day at what can be done with this platform and I hope in the many years to come there'll be more advancements and cool things to be made.
Versa is the maker of a neat little car that makes its own skid tracks which I failed completely to get a gif of, here's a photo and you can also check out the video of the car on the Mobius Discord server - they have a channel dedicated to Karts, so you can expect more clever developments down the line!
Starry Skydancer
Starry Skydancer (original.character): I think our community pushes an unusually high amount of new high-quality content. Like the mobian heads and the toon bodies and our official regions are having all the prims replaced with mesh.
Dancing in the Emerald Underground club
Ͳ Êœ I Я Z ă (thirza.ember): when you signed on here, did you ever think the grid would last 10 years? that is really old, in opensim terms...
Starry Skydancer (original.character): Hmm. you know I kinda did tbh.  I always thought our grid was the best
I don't get over to mobius as often as I'd like, but every time I do there is some new bit of kit or innovative region to visit, so it's always a joy. Camming around, for example, I spotted these fantastic... I want to say rideable blue hornets? I expect they have a much cooler name than that, and they look like a lot of fun.
Royale Mobian
A big shout out to Royale, and all the Mobian team, for keeping the grid fresh, fun and groundbreaking for a full decade. The first ever Safari visit to Mobius was way back in 2015, so we've kind of always been in each other's lives, and it's always been a pleasure to come over and check out the grid.
The highlight of the party - the pyrotechnics!
fireworks crew Neytiri Omatikaya and Calliope Andel of PyroVR Fireworks
We all took to the chaise longues out on the waterfront to enjoy this fabulous display.
The classic Mobius GTH sky was tuned from its characteristic deep blue to a firework friendly night sky, and the fun was begun...
...a firework hud supplied the appropriate sounds, and the tunes on stream, supplied by DJ Calliope, absolutely matched the display, with us ooo-ing and aaah-ing just like a rl firework show.
What a great way to celebrate ten fantastic years of Mobius. Wishing them all many many more!
