HIE 2024 Starts !

Yesterday at 11am Pacific, the Hypergrid International Expo kicked off with three hours of music. The HIE expo regions are on Craft grid, you can get to them by coming to craft-world.org:8002:HIE Welcome and use the portals to get to HIE 2, HIE 3 and HIE 4, where all the fun takes place.

And what music! The divine Zoree Jupiter kicked things off with a truly beautiful set of Fado, the traditional portuguese songs of love, passion and of course, 'fado' or fate, destiny...

Zoree's voice, at once powerful and sweet, brought to life this ancient and eternal art form. No wonder she is considered one of opensim's premiere singers, and we were delighted to have her with us to inaugurate the Expo. As you know, HIE is combination event - it's a foreign language conference, it's a theater of art with several spectacular displays, like this one by Velazaquez Bonetto...

... and it's also an expo - with over 100 booths in the HIE expo park, where you'll find LMs, information, website links and yes! many freebies.

Following Zoree onstage, we had an hour of great 80s music by DJ Marlon Wayne, an outstanding chance to sing and dance and laugh - especially when this blogger managed to delete the stage (too much singing and careless clicking!!) but it was soon fixed, and even a couple of mass crashes didn't dent the party spirit.

Lastly, the absolutely wonderful Zeno came to the stage, with his Astralia avie, Zeno Voxel. It was so nice to have him singing some solid gold classics of Italy, from Califano to Morandi and back again... the man has a voice like a tiger dipped in butter and served with a glass of something sparkling. Is that a weird metaphor? True, though. Just delightful.

HIE continues today with talks in German and French and some splendid art performances that will surprise and thrill you - we begin at 9am SLT, that's 6pm in Europe. See you there!
