In the Abyss

 James Atlloud: i am mes-mer-ized

Imagine a drowned city, old as time.  Here creatures of the sea play among the ruins, while above the water a series of monumental bridges link land masses, no more than islands now, where a scatter of fine buildings, architecture ancient and modern, can be visited - even danced in and shopped in.

Mr Smokes and Nexus Storm

 From a landing point among coral and shoals of fish, Nexus led the intrepid group who made it to Aqua Abyss through the main points of interest at quite a speed. 

There's an awful lot to see here, and it's definitely a place to revisit, in order to discover the corners and vistas that we missed during our short trip.

Thirza Ember: It takes me a full 10 minutes just to click on all the people who are too complex to "display fully"

Govega Sachertorte: there is a lot of large mesh down here so it can cause lag ... sorry for that but worth it

 Aqua Abyss is a giant build by Nexus Storm and Mr Smokes, and of course Thom InVR with contributions by other Neverworlders, such as grid owner Govega Sachertorte, shown here strutting her stuff with an impressive hybrid 'walking mermaid' look.

Govega Sachertorte: Luckily we oxygenated the water so humans can breathe here today

Thirza Ember: whoooaaa quite a journey to get here, for some reason, couldn't jump from Barefoot Dreamers to this region

Kelso Uxlay: Same for me, I had to tp home

Govega Sachertorte: I did move the sim earlier so there is less lag so I am not sure if that was why maybe

Nara Nook: I had to go home and back twice before it worked

James Atlloud: Going to home grid worked flawlessly for me - thanks for the tip.

Nine Zero: I have a mermaid ao, if anyone wants

Thirza Ember: we were about 20 on the first stop, but I did warn people to go home and then re tp, so hopefully they will do that

Govega Sachertorte: yea I only see about 10 now, we can start whenever you are ready and then if need be they can catch up ?

Govega Sachertorte: I think partly we wanted to do a sunken city, but only partially sunken

Nexus Storm: we wanted to create a beautiful underwater experience , cyberpunk and old ..a history forgotten secret but not a dream and hidden secrets all in on. Lots of areas to be discovered and photo areas

Nexus Storm: We designed the build around a sunken center with surviving areas up top , it just came together Mosaic was Ai art

Govega Sachertorte: they do take advantage of lighting properties and materials, we do use a lot for AI art for textures and such... I used some for the cornflakes outfits  :)

James Atlloud: oh, that's great

Govega Sachertorte: as with most builds, this is multi level. Thom is our undersea activity specialist, hes done several undersea observatories as well as water activities ... boats and such, and also runs a houseboat sim  :)

Nexus Storm: you can also cam down

Thom InVR: we get to it up these stairs... just a quiet place to view the undersea life and a happy mermaid or two

The region is full of stunning scenery and special effects

Unfortunately the lag kind of defeated those who were new to the sim, and needed time to rez and also mentally acclimate to their surroundings, and figure out in which direction our guides had gone. Local tps were tricky, because often by the time they worked, the lead people had already gone to some other point. 

Nexus Storm: I recommend coming back and exploring as this area is full of hidden small areas hard to go to with a big group

Nexus Storm: The volcano has rolling lava at the edges. Ares scripted all of this , the team worked so well bouncing off each other

We came upon a part of the build that was on fire. Missed some of the explanations, probably due to being out of chat range, but in a way that made the build even more mysterious and interesting. By the time I got here, James was handing out marshmallows for toasting.
