Halloween Treats

There are always so many things to do at Halloween in Opensim, it brings out all the ghoulish genius of our many builders. Even if you're not generally a Halloween type person, there is plenty here to admire - and if you love the scary stuff you'll be in heaven!  (Or should that be the Other Place?)
The pumpkin patch on Themed region of escape2reality
Here are three suggestions of fun ways to enjoy the spookiest time of the year. All HG Addresses and hops are, of course, at the end of the post, and the links to the region's pages on Opensimworld are posted as links - so don't forget to click on the links, Like, Review, and Bookmark if you're so inclined - it's a great source of positive feedback for our wonderful creators.
Mystic and Hippie's 'Dead Man's Mansion'
Hippie Balbozar and  Mystic Moonshine aka Mystic Moonlight and have the most photogenic phantasmagoric build over on escape2reality grid. The sim is called Themed Region  for reasons you can probably guess! You may want to bring your wellies and an umbrella, because right now, there's a lot of wild weather going on.
A photographer's paradise, it's so pretty you almost forget to go walking!
digging the skellies
The house will knock your socks off with ancient Appalachian anxiety, but don't stop there - this build is packed with horrific corners (in the best possible sense of the expression.) I really loved these grave digging skellies, and took all the paths to all the creepy corners I could find, but was left convinced that I'd missed some of the clues to the whole build. Plus i'm not sure if the witches lake is supposed to be used that way... sorry...
What a huge amount of fun and imagination has gone into this. Just beautiful.

Big Trouble on Kinky Haven - watch your step!
Next up - Kinky Haven's Halloween build is multiple delights in one! The build is on a special region called Kinky-Events, an ephemeral sim that comes and goes with the flow of celebrations and seasons. This is an adult grid, so be ready for some possible nakedness - you are bound to see some bones... just sayin'...
Well of ghosties!
The path into Wendie Blackthorn's monumental Cemetery was absolutely irresistible, and within a couple of minutes, you'll find yourself surrounded by spooks. Of course, it's important to use the suggested environment, but do raise the daylight values just a bit to get the full impact of this really beautifully laid out land, confirming once again Wendie's skill and artistic vision. This has been a community effort with contributions by Freya Blackthorn, builder of the Walking Nightmare, Lizzy Borden, who's responsible for the Vampire Sanctuary and Johanna Haven, who made the Ghost Ride, and of course they all added to the general build, quite a team!
Like getting a boxed set of Stephen King novels, you will find everything here from an interactive urban apocalypse, to  jump scares and dungeons, to bumper cars, cemetery frights and flights, and circus freakiness. The ghosts are exquisitely alarming, and everything is lit with consummate creepiness... love it!
Clowning around on Kinky Haven

Finally, last but not least - Halloween on Mare Grid is having a big party this evening euro time, and this is another really beautiful build well worth exploring,.. this is the party zone, seen in the suggested environment setting - it's cleverly part gloom and part fiery orange. Not an easy match to make!
The great thing about Halloween is how many kinds of fictional horror you can come up with, and how they can all be blended into a single regional scenario.
By the Mare family, particularly Silver and Stella Mare, all parts of this sim are just brilliantly put together, but the tableau of the skellies at the funeral is particularly well done; you feel like you're walking through a painting.
Mare Grid is a German grid with a number of destinations that catch the eye at this time of year in particular... I'm definitely going back to sample the Zombies of Alexandria! That is, if I survive this cornfield incident...
So much subtle shade and haunting beauty in one place, you'll be glad you took a look at all three of these builds.
