Rinky Dinkie Fish and Fun on AMV

 Last season on the Safari we visited arguably the largest single vehicle in opensim, the luxury liner Aurora, and this week, we're back on AMV grid again to see a very differently proportioned build by Ted Junior - the Dinkies Funsize Resort. While the general rule is that you should have a small cat avie to participate on the sim, Ted and Sofee Supermarine made an exception for us, and we got a warm welcome on an impeccably organized and decorated build.

The convenient landing place puts you down in a information area, where you immediately have access to the Dinkie town plaza and Main Street. Everything is appropriately proportioned, yet cleverly engineered so that normal height people don't feel like their camera is always crashing through walls. A group of AMV residents, including grid co-owner Clifford Hanger, were there to meet us, in their Dinkie personas.

Ted Junior: you will be feeling tall, but do not worry

Angelic Kisses: I feel like I should scoop them up and give them all hugs.

Forest Azure: Dinky = Double Income No Kids Yet?

Ted Junior: no kids, only dinkies

Forest Azure: yes, that is what dinky means, no?

Ted Junior: no no, dinkies are no kids, we just are cats and do fun stuff

Thirza Ember: were you dinkies also in SL before you came to opensim?

Ted Junior: No i was a elf in sl, and a neko

Roffellos Kisses: most guys have a dinky; I lost my neko ..... to an older woman

Ted Junior: This is the shopping area, and we have a market, every month dinkies can add stuff at the market for free , to share it with other dinkies we have also dinkie stores with clothes and shoes and so on. If you need a 'Starter' avatar, you can get those at the Dyval Shopping on opensim, or you can buy it from Etheria Perrot.

Zelle Mist: There are many places to get clothes too  Harper from Harper and Sum makes them, Hope from AMV has a store too.

Ted Junior: the motel offers living space, people can drive a taxi, there is roller skating is this side

Ted Junior: no,  no sex for Dinkies.

Thirza Ember: thank goodness for that

Ted Junior: living is free, i put rental boxes but they do not need to pay, this is like the hollday in resort

A little further on we came to the Drive In movie theater, where cute vehicles that looked like bumper cars provide seating for ones and twos. 

A concession stand with popcorn, ice cream and chocs completes the ambiance. 

But this is not just playacting, it's a real community event, with RL movies to share with friends.

Zelle Mist: we have a Dinkie Sheriff and a Mayor -  Mayor Taffy, and the sherrif is Harper, from Harper and sum

Forest Azure: a sheriff! i need to have a word with him/her!

Ted Junior: this is our drive in cinema here we watch our monthly movie, you can sit with 2 on the car

Thirza Ember: how many dinkies do you think there are in opensim?

Zelle Mist: you would be surprised how many AMV humans are also Dinkies - a lot of our entertainers are Dinkie too

Thirza Ember: it's a way to have an alter ego on the grid really?

Regular weekly and fortnightly events keep the Dinkie community vibrant

Zelle Mist: /points to Cliff and to Hello Kitty - some use their same human account, some start another.

Ted Junior: we have 86 dinkies in our group, and there are also from osgrid, aviworlds, and others grids too, but most are from amv itself.  We have dinkies from France, Spain, USA, UK, Italy, Turkey, Germany, and the good thing of it all - who can't speak the language, uses the translator.  I dunno an 'alter ego' but when you're a dinkie, you are more relaxed

Thirza Ember: oh because you are in a sort of role play, or another way to see the world?

Ted Junior: Because we still the same when we human or when we dinkie, we talk about anything

Forest Azure: so no roleplay?

Ted Junior: no roleplay - we talk about anything, there is no sexuality.

Forest Azure: so, does that mean having no sexuality makes a world more relaxed?

Ted Junior: for me it does

Forest Azure: but why is it more relaxed?

Ted Junior: you don't get bugged, it's like when we have a party or so, : we talk a lot being a dinkie... food is always  a subject, 

Zelle Mist:  bananas has been HAWT topic lately! you will find Dinkies talk to each other a lot more than your human ones do...  we gamble a lot, and fish

Zelle Mist: we discuss real life a lot

Ted Junior: one of our dinkies just had a rl baby

Zelle Mist: and they involved us.. it was great

Sofee Supermarine: the dinkies love to fish, so we do fishing tournaments every fortnight on here

Ted Junior: and have u ever seen a dinkie buddha? Who likes to meditate, or yoga, we have it all on here

Angelic Kisses: I did!   this place is really well thought out

Thirza Ember:  how long to build all this, Ted?

Ted Junior: I think like a month or 2, I builded, didn't like it, then I rebuilded it. You know you need that feeling when you making something.

Roffellos Kisses: why is it when there is zen to be found ..Thirza throws her legs in the air?

Sofee Supermarine: hummmmmmmmmmmm

Ted Junior: the animations i got from an other grid where i was before, long time ago, in opensim, so yeh for you guys now the animations are bit tiny, but these can be changed for adults too, or you can change the hover height if needed from your avatar, and dunno if you can hear the music, but the music is also relaxing, i try to give each place on here there  feeling that u really there
