The Cream of Carima

Thirza Ember: here we come...
Primus Caproni: we are prepared ^^
Primus Caproni: Hello all travelers
Forest Azure: hello
Fitheach Eun: Hi Primus
Arriving at the Harbour, that's Alan in the white hat.
Edwin: Hey ihr da!  Hört euch die Neugikeiten an!
Alan Scot: verr ees my translator
Primus Caproni: No Problem all the following will be done in english
Primus Caproni: Welcome to Carima. My name is Primus, I am the RP Governor of Carima and this avatar is also the admin of the grid. Before we really get started, a few words about Carima.
This is a medieval role-playing game with fantasy elements. The origins of Carima lie in SL, where Carima started in 2007, the founder and idea generator for this world was Linde Kronfeld. Initially, Carima was located on one sim, but then grew over time in SL to a considerable size and at its peak included 11 sims. Unfortunately, the enormous cost pressure in SL took away the fun of RP and led to some unhappy dependencies, so the ownership community broke apart and Carima began to dissolve. For a few years, Carima continued in a reduced variant as Carima-City in SL. In 2012, first discussions began to move the RP from SL to opensim and in 2014, a first offshoot of Carima was started in the Metropolis Grid, where Carima grow as you see it here today. Most of what you see here is build by Delphi Bernard, to me she is one of the most talent builders I ever meet. In the meantime, Carima has moved twice, first to the grid of Anette Hummel and in 2022 finally to its own grid.  The decision to set up its own grid for Carima was not completely voluntary, but because of the things happened in the last grid, it appeared logical and consistent.
Primus Caproni: I welcome you today here at the harbor of Carima, I thought this was a suitable place, as travelers often arrive at a harbor. From here, I would like to invite you on a small walk up to our city, I hope that you will meet some of our citizens on the market square and on the way there, you can collect a few impressions about our world.
Primus Caproni: Carima is the home of many peoples and races, there are humans, elves, dwarves, dark creatures of all kinds, even dragons and mermaids have been seen.  The focus of the RP is the regular audiences upstairs in the castle, where the citizens present their concerns and report on the events in the country. As your stay is only short, I can only show you a very small part of our world, so today unfortunately our elven world remains unseen as well as the powerful Castle of Hills, the seat of the Duchess or our ballroom Callas in which many grand parties have been celebrated. But I hope that Thirza will put us back on the list of destinations someday and then I would be happy to show you one of these places.
Lyr Lobo would love that
Alan Scot: are all regions on the HG ?
Primus Caproni: yes all is reachable by HG
Thirza  Ember: for sure! thank for the invitation!
Forest Azure: seconds that :)
Carima Amazonien region
Primus Caproni: I am particularly pleased that for several months now we have also become the home of the Amazons from SL. After this well-known RP in SL also ended its engagement there, a large part of the active players here moved to Carima-World. On 4 extra sims provided, the Amazons have rebuilt their home. The sims have become fantastic and are absolutely worth seeing, I have already pleaded with Thirza for a visit. Between Amazonia and Carima, there was already a very close friendship in SL and we are all very happy about this "growth" that enriches our world in a superior way.
Primus Caproni: btw this introduction was originally written in my mother language german, for the translation I used the first time the Chat KI of ChatGPT. I hope the KI did an good job ;-)
Fitheach Eun: Very good job
Primus Caproni: So ladies and gentlemann, would you please follow me ?
We got a little lag at the sim crossing but after about 5 minutes  things calmed down a bit.... in olden days such lag would have meant people crashing, possibly the whole grid, but patience was all we needed to overcome it, and move into the Marketplace area, and cam around if not walk t see the sights. A nice group of local residents awaited us at the table in the main square, set up for a feast.
Star Ravenhurst: It is all so very pretty... I think it is amazing that people from all over the planet are here in this place all at once
Susi Soderstrom: hello butterfly *to Star
Frekya Vanderbor: hello all the visitors
Forest Azure: mull of ...ehm?
Susi Soderstrom: Bier, Schweinefleisch
Fitheach Eun: [en→de]: Was heisst Spanferkel?
SandyLee Munro: suckling pig is spanferkel
Carima is Spanferkel friendly
Primus Caproni: Usually this is really one of the most visited places, even if we have so many sims most time the focus is here at that sim
Frekya Vanderbor: leckeres haben wir wenn wir Amazonen die Zuckerbäckerin überfallen wir warten nur das es dunkel wird hihi
Susi Soderstrom: ja, frage gerne
Alan Scot: I'm heinfarting

Alan Scot: do u have any npcs ?
Primus Caproni: We have made some tests with npc but we do not use them at the moment
Fitheach Eun: Is there a large ongoing storyline or does it change depending on who is roleplaying?
Frekya Vanderbor: we play many stories in one set
Primus Caproni: both ... we have some big stories going on here but to be honest the little unplanned Rps are often much more fun
Lavia Lavine: More like Improv - I like Improv !
Fitheach Eun: I like improv too
SandyLee Munro: we do many cross roleplays between both roleplays
Carmia shops
Beth Ghostraven: Primus, are there any freebies?
Lyr Lobo: liebe freebies
Bluemoon Sweetrain: shops are to the right of the tavern
Primus Caproni: we have here some small shops which offers some nice Medieval clothing or even complete ready to use packages
Fitheach Eun: You have lovely shops
Thirza Ember: how many regions total here?
Lyr Lobo: more than 30 by my count... just within view on the map
Primus Caproni: The Carima-World grid now comprises 66 sims, of which 16 sims are primarily assigned to RP, another large part of sims serves to expand the area and should round off the area visually. Additionally, we have provided some additional sims to supplement the RP, such as an island for the pirates or a home world for the eerie race of Drow.
Fitheach Eun: Don't be badmouthing the drow now ;)
James Atlloud: 66!
Alan Scot: ⁂•:._.:•⁂ⓄⓂⒼ⁂•:._.:•⁂  look at all the regions
Fitheach Eun: You have really grown since I was here last
Primus Caproni: maybe we grow further
SandyLee Munro: we have 4 sims as guests here for the former Second life amazonien roleplay
Classic Carima look
Thirza Ember: what is the best day to come here for RolePlay
Primus Caproni: Sunday evening the audienze is maybe an good idea or everyday  around 9 pm gmt
Fitheach Eun: What time is the audience?
Beth Ghostraven: 9 pm gmt = 1 pm grid time
Lucy Afarensis
Lucy Afarensis: Can one attach a server to your grid like is possible with osgrid ?
Primus Caproni: no, at the moment we had no plans for adding additional servers, I am afraid  that will be to much load for the robust
James pre-plague cart
Thirza Ember: did you all know each other in SL before you came to opensim?
Bluemoon Sweetrain: most of us have known each other for many years
Susi Soderstrom: i know a lot from SL
SandyLee Munro: i think we are the two oldest existing roleplays in SL/OS = oldest german roleplays
Primus Caproni: yes I think one day I can write an book about that all
Lavia Lavine: I'm assuming your roleplay is primarily medieval.
Primus Caproni: not everytime Lavia, sometimes we are also do some really silly things, for example over 2 sims in the sky you will find an huge spaceship. The role-play builds up around the audience, which is more of a relaxed type here in Carima and is not always oriented on the perfect model of the 14th century. The main thing is that people enjoy spending a little time here, away from everyday life and the worries that often accompany us now. And, I would say so far the concept is going well.
James in the cart and Alan doing something horizontal
Forest Azure: the amazones ... are they from the Amazone? i was mentioning that because i know there are female tribes in the Amazone in SL
SandyLee Munro: we are more from the greek area, not from the Amazon river - Greek mythology
Peter Serrano: I am the only male at the Amazones. Its nice.
Lyr Lobo grins at Peter
James Atlloud: hello - I am very comfortable... I just hope this isn't the plague cart.
whirli.placebo: i noticed...love it
Fitheach Eun: Just say: " I'm not dead yet", James.
Lyr Lobo thinks of the Black Knight in Monty Python
Thirza Ember: I find it really interesting that the Amazones of SL have come to Carima, and now that big Star Trek RP group in SL are moving to 3rd Rock Grid....opensim is doing something RIGHT evidently
Aphra.Hendrix: yes Thirza that is true
SandyLee Munro: the "Amazonien" roleplay from opensim was paid by one owner, that was no longer viable
Star Ravenhurst: Cost probably has a lot to do with it... You can do a lot more for a lot less here
Hani Blacksmith: yes
Frekya Vanderbor: it is very much fun to roleplay here
James Atlloud: And to play/experiment - no cost texture uploads!
Star Ravenhurst: That is a big one for me James... Free textures and photos
Thirza Ember: and the reliability of the people in opensim - even if a place is free, it's no good if it is not reliable
Star Ravenhurst: Are all of the building original builds here or did you find them at places in OS?
Susi Soderstrom: would anyone like to see more of the city, the church, orphanage, here begins the guided tour to the church
Fitheach Eun: I would love to, if I can move
Star Ravenhurst: I would love to come back. This is beautiful for photography
Lyr Lobo: me too, Star
Bluemoon Sweetrain: you can visit us anytime and look around
James Atlloud: The parcel music is also wonderful btw.
SandyLee Munro and Peter Serrano
The quality of avatars her is of course exquisite. Hani Blacksmith was particularly photogenic.
Thirza Ember: lovely avatar!
Hani Blacksmith: oh ty ;)  o o  and i not smile friendly ;) hope you like  carima
Thirza Ember: Very much. Have you been doing roleplay for many years?
Hani Blacksmith: nearly 16 years now, in secondlife before and now here.
Hani Blacksmith
Thirza Ember: so one last question - what is needed to make a really GREAT role play?
Forest Azure: good emoters?
Peter Serrano: The only thing are the people. Yes emoters
SandyLee Munro: fantasy to play and dont try to be the center of the play, build space for less active players
Primus Caproni: mhh if you ask me... most important is .. dont take all too serious
Peter Serrano: Right, Primus
Bluemoon Sweetrain: and play without a strict script
James Atlloud: It can be a challenge when making a new character, but it's good to be flexible to let the character grow in ways I didn't plan.
Thirza Ember: There is a lot of friendship here, what a lovely grid. Thank you all for making the effort to talk to us in english and show us this place - so many more corners to explore here!
Forest Azure: ty, Carima people!
Peter Serrano: Thank you for coming.
Primus Caproni: thank you for come here - hope you did enjoy your stay
Bluemoon Sweetrain: see you and visit us again soon
Frekya Vanderbor: I wish you a lot of fun and I hope to see one or the other visitor in the RP again!
Elyion Arai: Schönen Abend wünsch ich euch.

HG Address:  carima-welt.de:8002:Carima and then explore this wonderful grid.
