Spooqued

It's noon SLT on the first Thursday of the month, so that means it's Frenchie time! This month the Soiree Franco involved a visit to Quebec, in the form of the grid Creanovale, home to Kelso Uxlay and Dabici Straulino.

For those who don't know, once a month the French-speaking community of opensim has a grid jumping event. Things start off on Eden Cat's little grid, where there is a meet-and-greet, in Voice and in French. A great way for you to polish your pronunciation and irregular verbs! But don't worry, if you get really stuck, this friendly and helpful bunch will get you on the right track.
We jumped over to the Halloween build on Novale region. It's a triple threat build - a spooky village, a boat ride to dark and mysterious castle, and a Halloween Hunt in 11 caves . We started at the castle
In the library, we relaxed among the volumes, and got some backstory about the build.
That is Dabici sitting up on the high perch, looking like she is waiting for Edgar Allen Poe to walk in.
There are lots of details in this room, like this delightful book, making it really worthwhile to take a moment to cam about and explore.
Then it was off to the boat! This has to be the best set of boat poses for mixed company that you can find in opensim. The ride takes you through the beautifully curated countryside of the sim, worth exploring by foot or on horseback. Make sure you have Advanced Lighting set up, so you can see the atmospheric EEP.
You may have read an earlier post about the Haunted Valley.
Returning for a second visit meant finding loads more goodies and activities that I'd missed on my first trip, including the working electric chair, the ghoulish church interior, and a giant snake.

But my favorite bit remains the lamp post with umbrella. All done with prims, Dabici says - impressive.
The tour continued to the 11 Caves. Take a spin on the Ghost Train...
... avoid getting got by the giant spider, the vampires and all the other creepies and crawlies.
A great tour, and a great way to close the Halloween season, before work begins on the Xmas expo.
Next month, on Thursday December 2, there will be another French gridhopping event, so put it in your calendar, and rejoignez-nous!
